9w Pulled Out From CMB??

I was just trying to price fares ex-CMB on 9w, but it appears that their service to CMB is now over...

Sabre (via KVS) shows no flights, and even the 9w website shows no flights!

However, the pull-down option for a starting/ending city pair is still there, so maybe they are revising options being fed into the GDS...

Maybe security concerns after the latest round of unrest in CMB?

Although it was their first international route (probably launched with DEL-KTM, I don't remember) it hasn't been doing well at all. It is kind of an oddball, relying heavily on O&D. There are 2 options moving ahead, I think:
1. Downgauge to ATRs (or CRJs with JetLite) and offer the same mid-day flights
2. Reschedule for BRU connections at MAA. The problem here is that this will require two flights to operate MAA-CMB which will ony make it worse. Maybe if they used 2 RON ATRs/CRJs for departures at MAA around 10pm and 4am, it might make sense.

Oh ****. 9W had some great o/w rates to CMB from DEL. Also for any Flying Blue members out there you could redeem o/w award at only 7,500 miles in Y and 15,000 in Biz. What a bargin.

Although flights from July, Aug are still showing. What dates are you checking for D?

RON - Remain Over Night

Refers to aircraft that spend the night at a station. Usually the last flight in and first flight out the next day.

So any update on this? Have they cancelled the flights? Jet lite still flies there though right?

The flights are very much there on the schedules of 9W (on their website) - they are listed to operate on their current timings all the way till Mar 09..

That might be the case now, but when I started this thread, there was nothing on the Sabre GDS (the system that 9w uses), and nothing on the website showing available...

Now we do see connections on 9w to CMB...

If I was to book a y seat and use a upgrade voucher to upgrade to J would I require one or two vouchers? The journey would be DEL-MAA-CMB.

p.s 2000 posts.
