The title says it all - does anyone know which, (if any), US carriers interline with Jet.

The reason I want to know this as I am planning on flying 9W from JFK - MAA, but I'll originate from CVG. Any fare, on any airline going on one ticket out of CVG is just too much, at least based on my searches. I would highly prefer to be able to have my luggage tagged in CVG right through to India. I'd love to know if there are any carriers that would do this.

I'll be travelling from MAA - ORD on a British Airways award ticket in Business. If I buy a seperate Jet Airways ticket from BOM - MAA will they check me in all the way through? Based on the link aglp2k it seems like they will but when I called Jet they told me that if it's a seperate ticket they will not do through check in.

From my experiences and knowledge they won't. It is a domestic sector so it may require seperate check in for both boarding pass and luggage.

Y'know - even if it is a interlined ticket, you have to clear customs in BOM. So you have to get your bags off the belt and check them in anyway again - not sure if you can just hand them off to the 9W reps at the international terminal.

If I transit through BOM I try not to check anything at all .. one rollaboard and one laptop bag. So ..

And anyway both BA and 9W have international flights to MAA (9W has BRU-MAA now which you can fly instead of BRU-BOM).

There is a 9W desk outside the customs area I think they will be able to help you out. You will also need to take a bus to the domestic terminal as it can be as long as a 30 min ride at times due to the congestion at the airport. Both are atleast a few kilometers apart.

Hi I was in India and thought I will just call and check it out for you. They said if it's on one ticket yes, if its a sepearte ticket for the domestic sector than they will not provide the trough checkin.

Through check-in did not work for me flying 9Wt NAG-BOM, and then by NW BOM to MSP. Jet airways staff just could not access the NW data base. The biggest problem as a result was that I had to lug my own luggage from BOM domestic to the international terminal to connect to NW. With the constant over booking that takes place in India, I was very worried until I got my boarding pass!

Next week I am flying NW MSP-EWR and then connecting on to 9W. I doubt very much if NW can do a through check in for me at MSP. I will know on Tuesday

Was that two separate tix - like you booked NAG-BOM off jetairways.com and then booked BOM-MSP on NW? If so interlining doesnt work too well.

Yes, it was two different tickets bought separately on NW web site and Jet web site. But it really should not matter if one has the confirmation number for each itinerary?

It should work in theory at least, but you still have to recheck your bags

Through check-in from Jet Airways to Northwest at Mumbai:
Passengers traveling on Jet Airways and connecting on to Northwest at Mumbai will have to hand over their bags on arrival to the NW security personnel present at the Domestic Arrival hall. The North Weststaff will then transfer the bags to the International Terminal. Please note this facility can be availed by passengers arriving into Mumbai between 1500 hours and 2230 hours. Passengers arriving into Mumbai before 1500 hrs and after 2230 hrs will have to personally carry their baggage to the international terminal.

On the way back, I would beware of any interlining. I was flying IT MAA-DEL and connecting to AA ORD-DEL. IT in MAA checked me in for my AA flights, issued boarding passes, and even tagged my bags all the way to LA. They said just hand them to an IT porter at the DEL domestic airport and they would get them to AA. I was thinking this is great!

Big surpirse when I got to DEL. Had to get the bags at the domestic airport and make my way over to the International airport on my own. The IT baggage staff there said there is no procedure to transfer bags to International flights. I showed them my boarding passes and bags checked to LA - but the answer was still no. To their credit, the IT manager handled things well and since the next shuttle was 40 minutes away, he reached into petty cash and sent me in a cab - and one of the IT porters escorted me all the way until I was in one - though not sure that really that saved me a lot of time since I had to wait for a cab and we had to leave the airport and drive around (whereas I think the bus stays in airport property -- plus the driver was mad he had such a short trip). When I got to the International terminal, had to check in again, all bags had to be retagged (both from a security point of view and AA baggage routing), and they tore up the IT issued boarding passes for the AA flights and replaced them with AA passes.

It seemed to me that the procedure would be the same no matter what Indian domestic carrier you are on.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but does the following still hold true? BOM-DEL-ORD-LAX, BOM-DEL on 9W and rest on AA. In DEL we have to get the baggage from baggage claim and transfer it to the international terminal and recheck with AA?
