Intermiles Program (former JetPrivilege)

So JP has now become Intermiles and potentially an interesting orphan FFP (T&C may apply). Seems like it’s a good way to double dip if you’re not using Smartbuy, Premier Miles, SBI AI, Axis+Vistara or some other similar card.

Also I did a few random award searches... the award rates seem to have improved... DEL-BOM @ 8k and BOM-CCU @ 10k miles about 2 weeks away is not bad. But would have to look at a bigger sample.

The “Tiers” though they don’t have a significant amount of real world value might still be interesting. Seat selection at the base tier - have to go through the fineprint for that!

For international business class, they seem to only have availability on EY for the "standard award" redemptions - and those are available only months out. 220,000 Intermiles for BOM-LHR return is... not good, but also not as bad as I thought it might be. Flex award for the same route is a ludicrous 625,000 miles.

I noticed this interesting benefit listed under the co-brand card and dug through the T&C to find this - Co-brands holding or renewing a Co-brand Credit Card will be eligible to get a One-time Miles back for International redemption bookings being made on flights.intermiles.com of up to 30%

Your earnings for non EY flights are going to be double dipping from now onwards. So any new miles earned should be treated that way - it’s the miles you already have that you’re largely going to get screwed on.

Of course, I’m guessing most of the miles that you will now earn to do meaningful redemptions is obviously going to be through EY though. So then the question is... are the earnings better than EY Guest FFP... otherwise there’s no point of earning miles in your Intermiles accont.

What I have noted is that it appears they are offering revenue tickets for miles - so it might be interesting to see if they actually earn miles when flown...

The tickets I attempted to price were valued at INR 0.50 per mile...not exactly sure on the calculation, as I was pricing this out at 3am!

PS: Is it true that we cannot use the standard award redemptions on EY any longer? (At the old rates?)

Yes they do. I've redeemed a bunch of flights using their portal and they have always earned miles.

Those aren't "real" airlines miles... so yes you will earn miles when flown - you can double dip whether you buy cash tickets or miles tickets through Intermiles.

0.50p seems like great value considering what I was getting earlier on JP. I think they might have slightly improved the redemption rate since they launched Intermiles.... but you will have to validate this with others.

For EY redemption - you will need to call them and see if their position has changed.

Has anyone transferred miles to Intermiles as yet? Do the cards previously supporting JP automatically now send to the new programme? Please post your experience.

I think their website can do better explaining the new programme. They should have a overview and important T&C & FAQ pages up front to tell you about the programme benefits, changes and what remains the same.

I think double dipping remains their best offer but they don't clearly spell that out anywhere!

Was this done with an agent or online?
