Trip Delay +3 hours

I flew Jet Airways from BKK - DED on 11/27 with a stop in DEL, for a friends wedding. I had friends flying on the DEL - DED flight with me. When I was at immigration I got a text from my friends saying that the flight was delayed. When I went to drop my bags off for check in I asked the CR there and she said the flight is on time and if it isn't then the system hasn't updated on my screen. My friends and I went to the counter after I went to the domestic airport part and they said they couldn't move us to an earlier flight as they were booked. They wouldn't say what the delay was. Anyway our flight was delayed for over 3 hours. I missed an event at my friends wedding and literally wasted a day at the airport. I had trip protection but I don't think it covers this type of trip delay. I read online that 2 hr + block worth of delay should get flight refunded plus 10k INR. Anyone have experience with this?

Getting any compensation from Jet Airways has been an impossibility for me.
This has happened twice with me.
They simply restore to lying and once they are shown the truth they stop responding.
Good luck to you.

I saw several other news sites with the same info. I sent them an email and they replied and said they would get back to in a week or so. Let's see what they have to say

Did you actually travel on the delayed flight in the end? In that case, you are only entitled to meals and refreshments during the waiting time. The refund only applies if you chose not to travel on the flight, and the INR 10000 compensation for those who are denied boarding on the flight.

Please see http://dgca.nic.in/cars/D3M-M4.pdf for more information on this. This is the official source and not a random newspaper article.
