Did you send an email to them to issue your refund/recredit your miles? Without that email they don't process anything. In the email clearly spell out your status and the amount of refund you should be getting. If you cancel over the phone the ticket goes into some kind of limbo mode (I'm sure there is a technical term for it) but can reactivated (again for lack of the correct term) to book another flight. The email triggers the actual refund process.

i sent in the email the day i cancelled the ticket....there were 3 tickets in total....2 in business class & one in economy....all booked on the same day under different pnrs & all cancelled a week later at the same time....the refund for the 2 business class tickets came in 3 days later but its been 6 weeks now & i still haven't received the refund for the economy ticket....

Hmmm... looks like you're at the mercy of the AI gods then. IME a second "stern" email to the Maharaja email id has done the trick.

I wrote a mail to their silver email today.. wondering what the response will be considering Keyser with a Maharaja status is not getting much luck ! :(

finally got the miles back in my account this morning....8 weeks after i cancelled the ticket....no refund yet as far as the taxes are concerned....

also, the refund has come under the heading 'bonus miles' & not as a reversal of a cancelled award ticket so i have a feeling its going to take another stressful effort to get them to refund the taxes....

Were you charged the 20% cancellation? TMC & GEC didn't have any cancellation charges initially. But now the redemption T&C states that they will deduct miles from everybody irrespective of status.

yes i was....if they had a little bit of shame or any semblance of customer service then they would have refunded the full amount for making me wait 8 weeks....

looks like air india does not release any award availability on their long haul direct to the states.
tried looking for seats on DEL-JFK AI 101 & BOM-EWR AI 191 and didn't find any availability on any dates?
Did anyone else have better luck? any tricks?

they used to have a lot of availability on this route but lately they have just been releasing selected seats in economy on random dates....

What does "on any dates" mean? Because that certainly isn't possible.

They used to have tons of availability on this route earlier both in Y & J. I didn't know they started limiting award seat availability. Look at *A redemption as an alternative. Obviously there is a premium to that.

Two sectors on a single PNR
 
I just redeemed FR miles for a two sector connecting domestic flight on United. The FR team are still unable to make such bookings in single PNRs and since they have to create separate PNRs they charge both cash and miles twice. This is happening although the Star award chart clearly mentions multiple coupons are allowed on a single one way itinerary.

Just got an email from AI saying their SBI signature card now offers 30 pts / INR 100 spends on AI. Was this always the case or is this a new offer?
