For your wife, daughter and mom the easiest way is to sign the up for AI accounts and they will both get 10kgs each. I'm not sure if AI will let you claim both the 10kg extra + credit miles back to UA, hardly matters through, just pick the baggage.

Can someone point me to the weblink that states that *G receives an additional 20kg baggage allowance for India domestic-only flights (I see it under Flying Returns, but that's for AI's Golden Edge members, not *G in general)? The AI website lists the additional allowances for international flights, but makes no mention of *G benefits under the domestic baggage allowance listings.

My wife is a United *G, and has a BLR-HYD sector on AI coming up as part of a United award ticket (X-class). She will have perhaps 30-35 kg total baggage (2 pieces). Per the AI website, she would get 15kg as an X-class ticket, so I'm assuming that with the additional *G allowance she would get a total of 35kg, correct?

I really want her to have something on paper from the website confirming this prior to checkin at BLR in a couple of days.

You can find it here:
http://www.staralliance.com/en/benef...silver-status/

The relevant part:
As a Gold Status holder you can choose not to travel light. We allow an additional 20 kg (44 pounds) where the weight concept applies, or one additional piece of luggage where the piece concept applies.

This does not discriminate between domestic or international flights anywhere.

Thanks. Would have preferred something from AI itself, but that should also work.

I was able to speak to AI reservations, who couldn't help me with my question, and transferred me to the Flying Returns desk, where they confirmed the additional 20kg allowance for *G on domestic travel, but also acknowledged that it's not documented anywhere on their website. He actually said something to the effect of "we decided not to place the information on the website, preferring that travelers contact us to inquire about the allowance" + <facepalm>

cancelled a reward flight over a month ago....i got an email from ecommerce stating that the refund will take 2 weeks....i got the taxes amount back on my card in about 10 days but its been almost 5 weeks now & i still haven't receive the miles back in my account....calls to the customer service center are unhelpful since they tell me to send an email....sending an email is unhelpful since they don't reply....has anyone else faced a problem recently in getting miles re-credited to their accounts????

BOMflyer Aug 2, 2015 1:29 am

When flying *A partner, and you enter your AI-FR number, the miles you earn are tier miles or bonus miles ?

BOMflyer Aug 2, 2015 3:01 am

Also, a friend booked *A redemption usin AI-FR miles over the phone, he now has to go to AI booking office to pay the taxes, he has been given time Upton 10 Aug to confirm his seats.

But the one stopover issue still persists. You still can't book A-B-C as A-C redemption.

I am not sure if this is just me or others are facing this problem as well.
I was never able to redeem miles on flying returns, when ever i go to "Pay with miles" option, I get the below error

As you can see on the right side, I am already logged in...
Contacted AI on twitter and phone..
Now I am emailing them as well.

Any one else face this issue?

Nope, thats a new one. Use a combination of emails and calls to them. They are usually slow to answer emails; but if you call without emailing first, they'll just suggest you to email them.

In addition, below 2 numbers were handy to me as I had faced the same issue twice earlier and person on the other side of the call was able to sort it out almost instantaneously: 011-24624074 - 75

Cheers!

Awesome ^ Added to the wiki

@deovrat - I would say above number (011-24624074/75) works for any issues we may face w.r.t our FR account and not only for redemption related issues - As in my case, it was account log-in issues each time.

Cheers!!
