i couldn't book online as well so i called them to book the ticket....the agent made the reservation & gave me my pnr but he wasn't able to take the payment over the phone....he assured me someone would call back within 2 hours for the payment but that was over 8 hours ago....if i don't hear back from someone by the end of the day then i'll call them tomorrow....
See if you can access the 'manage the booking' section on AI website. |

Do you have an e-ticket number or just the PNR?

By the way, the issue seems to be resolved now and the redemption section can be accessed now as usual.
now, around 350k miles are missing from my account & i still don't have a booking....i called them about 15 minutes ago & spoke with a supervisor who confirmed that all 3 agents gave me wrong information & payment cannot be taken over the phone for a website booking....also, i have to send them an email to get my miles back as they won't refund them automatically.... at this point i've decided to give up on ai & have just booked the seat with another airline.... |

dealing with ai can be so frustrating at times....i have now tried 3 times to book the ticket online & each time the miles are deducted but a website error prevents the credit card from being charged....all 3 times i called ai to complete the payment process & each time they told me someone will call back within a number of hours to complete the booking....but no one has called....

Wish they had a more responsive facebook/twitter team who had sufficient authority to look into such cases quickly. 6E's springs to mind as being excellent in this regard. |

I see in your profile that you are AI's TMC member. I remember seeing a specific email ID that was for TMC members only. Is it any more helpful?

There should really be something to differentiate TMC from Gold. Copying complimentary domestic upgrades from US carriers couldn't really hurt, the seats are going to go out empty anyway.
Recently flew DXB-DEL on AI.. The staff doesn't even look up from his screen, when you ask for a paid upgrade.. just says - Sorry no seats available.. |

How dare you.. this is blasphemy.. Indian Babu's are always flying all the routes, even if for no reason at all, just to make sure that the seats never go empty..!!

However, I'd say that depends entirely on the staff at that station. I had good experiences at HYD and BLR asking about paid upgrades. The staff were enthusiastic when I asked about them, they just had to figure out how to process them. |
