Question about Jet Privilege miles

Hi guys, sorry if this question has been asked several times before. I read on the Jet Airways website that you can only earn JP miles on a flight if the actual ticket is in your name. So would I be right in saying that if I log in using my Jet Privilege number, book a flight and the ebill clearly mentions my name, I would not earn the miles if the ticket is for someone else?

I'll be using my Citibank PM card so I will earn the miles there of course, but it would have been great to earn JP miles directly as well.

Hi Rob,

You will not earn miles if you book through any one else's name except yours. Infact while booking you JP number has to be mentioned, and if your name does not match, it will not be updated and will show error.

why should you earn miles if the ticket is for someone else????hotels & airline programs make it pretty clear that miles & points will only be earned if you are traveling yourself....

With Jet you cannot earn if someone else flies, but there are many airlines which have a family concept wherein all flights by the family member are credited to the main account..
Emirates has that ( 20% of base miles ).. http://www.emirates.com/account/in/e...ily/index.aspx
Am sure few other global airlines also have it..
Kingfisher had it in India..but currently no Indian airline has this..

is the OP asking about flown miles or CC miles?? if its CC, you get miles / points on your CC account for whatever ticket you book I presume regardless of travelling person.. but yea - JP miles only for BIS.
