Spicejet shenanigans
A month ago I booked a flight on Spicejet from BKK to BLR. Today they email me to say they've discontinued the flight. No other flights on that route appear to be available either. Have they discontinued the whole route?

Why did Spicejet think that it can compete on this route. TG flies daily, SQ, MH, Tiger, 9W (from BOM) and AI (from CCU) offer connecting service and have frequent flyer programs. Unless Spicejet is significantly cheaper, most flyers would choose the other airlines. If SG is too cheap, then the flight is not economical anyway. They need to offer something extra or an incentive.

Spicejet and the like don't have interline agreements with carriers set up so they won't rebook you - they will just give you a full refund and you are left to fend for yourself. Happened to me on a domestic route before.

If you push hard enough, they will rebook you via PNQ. They will not put you on another carrier, which is a pain because the fare has probably increased so your refund probably won't get you to BKK.
