Air India deploying A332 on DEL-MAA?

Just got the corresponding announcement in the mail from AirlineRoute, and this is valid for the entire summer schedule onwards (1st Jul 2012 - 28th Oct 2012).

anyone connecting the dots on where is this 332 getting freed up from? My guess is from an existing route which will now fly the 787.

your views?

AFAIK, there was only 1 A330 on the MAA-DEL route, AI143. Wife flew on this 2 months back and mentioned it was packed on that route. It went onwards to CDG. DEL-CDG on a 787?

Do you know of any flight ex-DEL that normally leaves ~17:00 or ~17:30 on the a332? That might give a hint as to which flight is going to use the 787...

330 was doing Bom-Jed-del last winter schedule. In the summer schedule, original plan was to put it on Bom-sin-Bom-dxb-Bom. Ultimately they put it on Bom-maa-sin-maa-Bom-blr-Bom. The other 330 is grounded for a month for want of spare. The moment the strike began, 330 is being used on the delhi Tokyo route.

So this A330 which is going to be flying DEL-MAA-DEL is currently grounded.. (or flying DEL-NRT-DEL )

So it's actually a net capacity increase, not just reassignment.

Thanks for the clarification.
