Recent experience with Jet Airways
Another Jet experience, no biggie, just the sign of times...
I purchased a Jet Airways flight at Jet Airways price.
Well, it was "operated by" Jet Konnect, with service to match.
It took off seven hours late.
For some reason they used an Air India bus to transport us from the gate to the plane.
After this 7 hour delay, pax were only offered an opportunity to buy food and beverages. If they had exact change. Otherwise, tough luck.
My first two choices were unavailable. Third, a sandwich, was cold. Juice carton was missing the straw and FAs expressed inability to do anything about it and suggested I take it home (I was able to puncture a hole in it with my keys).
At no point did anyone from Jet seem embarrassed let alone apologetic for any of this, including the 7 hour delay. I thought that was the saddest and most telling part: it all seemed unexceptional, routine.
I hope things get better with Indian aviation! Is it all up to Indigo now?

sounds like the new Jet to me... it's a real shame to see an airline that was once so brilliant get wasted away like this.

couldn't agree more. It's just about acceptable - but when you compare it with 9W in 2007 or even last year, its a real let down.

Last week did a SIN-MAA, MAA-DEL, DEL-SIN trip on the proper Jet Airways. Mostly went good, and without incident. In the first leg and last leg, the plane was full. In MAA, the usual early morning departure circus at the gate.
Though, I have to agree it's not the same as few years ago. The quality and quantity of the food was disappointing, specially for the 5hr+ DEL-SIN leg.
Nevertheless, I think I will fly again with them on trips to/from India at the prices and service levels, as it's easily 30% cheaper then SQ while I consider the service/seat as still comparable to SQ.

very spot on. The meal service on the DEL-SIN (~5.5hrs) was worse then what was on offer on KTM-DEL v.v (~1.5hrs) last year.
i snagged the after-mint when they came around for after meal cleanup service.

Cheers!!
