6E "indigo plus"

Pay an extra INR 600 on domestic / 1500 on international and get

* meal
* 5 kg extra baggage
* advanced seat selection

"saving upto 50%"

Keyser Oct 1, 2011 10:52 am

they are strict about the baggage allowance & seat selection is a good benefit so it may be worth spending the extra inr 600 or inr 1,500....

Sounds good.. Have an Indigo roundtrip scheduled next month, should I pick the 1st row seats or the EE seats for legroom?

hserus Oct 3, 2011 2:08 am

1st row I'd say. The EE seats dont recline.

rathin100 Oct 3, 2011 2:34 am

I already have a booking for later in the month. I assume I can do this at check-in? Or must it be online in advance?

Thanks for the very helpful heads up, by the way

Indigo Plus - a scam!

Don't believe they will give you a pre-allocated seat! Here is the reply from Indigo after they gave a way my grandson's "pre-allocated" seat to a CIP:

Dear Mr. Tigar,

Thank you for choosing IndiGo.

On the same note, thank you for your mail.

We regret for the inconvenience caused to you.

With regards to your mail, I would like to inform you that an amount of INR 600 is charged for Indigo plus which has the following benefits:

• Option to select seats in advance.
• Meal comprising of one food item and one non-alcoholic beverage. Customers will have the choice of choosing a veg meal or a non-veg meal.
• 5 kg additional baggage allowance.

Further, I would like to confirm that the amount has been charged for the service which has all the benefits mentioned above and not only for the seat allocation. However, it states that you may select your seat in advance depending on the availability of the seat and it does not specify any seat numbers.

Thus, we respectfully decline your request as we are not in a position to provide you any waivers. We hope you will understand the need of our policy.

Trust this clarifies.

For further assistance on fares, schedules and reservation information you can contact our call center at +91 9910 383838 or at toll free number 1800 180 3838 or visit our website www.goindigo.in.

Best Regards

i agree....this is one of the most ridiculous things i have ever heard....

hserus Nov 9, 2011 6:49 pm

I think they're like "you can choose a window or an aisle" once you pay INR 600

Total waste of money for a short flight

Based on tigar's post, I still don't know what, exactly, your Rs 600 buys you as far as the seat goes. Looks like... nothing! What a deal!

I hope this scheme (a.k.a SCAM) is stopped very quickly by the authorities.
Will the Government interfere if several people complain??

As long as those several people know someone in the gov't who can do something about it - I sincerely doubt that going through the official channels of communication will do much at all.

sweets61250 Nov 11, 2011 10:01 am

I think there is some mis-communication or confusion.

I have booked seats (1st row) twice within the last 15 days without any issues.

SeeBuyFly Nov 15, 2011 2:17 pm

I just booked first row as well, and the seat number appears in the record shown on Indigo's web page.

I think there was some seat assignment problem or screwup specific to that reservation that led to the posted response above. Indigo is not the only Indian business that hates to give refunds under any circumstances. That may be why they're making money while Kingfisher isn't.
