YYZ-DEL-KTM

can anyone explain to me why AI fares are so enormously expensive compared to all others?

I have been using ITA to explore travel options including looking for the itineraries that will get you to KTM in roughly 24 hrs or less out of YYZ or BUF via EWR.

AI just always seems to be ridiculous, as if its not showing real prices or something

JFK-DOH-KTM. Overnight in Qatar, well worth it. (Qatar)

EWR-DEL-KTM. Overnight in Delhi. (Continental to 9W or AI or RA)

call me crazy but all the fares I see on ITA on AI are 7000-12000+
and that is for the discount economy
its not making sense

Its probably adding one segment to JFK/EWR from BUF in a full Y fare...and thats probably pushing your fares. Try starting your search out at JFK or EWR.

on Air India

JFK-DEL-KTM are reasonable...$1700+
JFK-LHR-DEL-KTM are more

YYZ-DEL-KTM under any circumstances comes up as $10000+
I got turned on to these flights because it gets you there in under 20hrs which would be awesome....but i dont think people routinely pay thousands more in coach to get there 8hrs faster.

meanwhile the "AI" fares from BUF-JFK DL-DEL-KTM run 34hrs for $1700

the $1,700 fare seems pretty decent....why not just go with that????no point spending a lot more just to get there a few hours earlier....

here is a similar thread started a few days before yours....
