I would take any news reports coming from 'Times of India' with a grain of salt. It's no better than a tabloid. They're known for exaggerating or even concocting stories.

If the same facts weren't reported in 'The Hindu', I wouldn't believe this incident.

i can understand 'the times of india' statement but wouldn't go as far as comparing them to a tabloid....

what do you have against the hindu????why wouldn't you believe this incident if it were reported in the hindu????

I find timesofindia.com no better than a tabloid (their print version is more bearable). I work in the internet ads business, so I know why they write hyped up/cooked up stories. (juicy stories=more clicks=more ad revenue)

As for the Hindu: I said I would not believe this incident if it were NOT reported in the Hindu. Obviously, Hindu is more reliable than TOI.

there is no doubt that the hindu is far more reliable than the toi....but then again, i would not compare the toi to a tabloid....print or online....

However, they have been reporting very irresponsibly about the crash - here is an example of blatantly false reporting:
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/c...ow/5992615.cms

The horrific Air India Express crash in Mangalore on May 22 that killed 158 people could have possibly been averted had the expat commander heeded his Indian co-pilot's advice. Records of the conversation between the pilots and ATC has shown that co-pilot H S Ahluwalia more than once urged Captain Zlatko Glusica not to land and instead go around.
Do we honestly believe that the First Officer repeatedly broadcast on ATC tower freq that he was asking the Capt to go around?? The only way such a conversation could be confirmed is not via ATC tapes, but by the CVR - which is currently in the US being decoded by Honeywell.....
