IT Removes Z-Class on Sabre

Has anyone noticed that Kingfisher has just removed z-class buckets on their domestic and international flights?

Now one cannot see if an award is available in biz.

That does not sound too clever considering they are months from joining OW and they will have to publish the award buckets to their partners.

Well, maybe this is actually a path towards that goal...

I don't know how OW fare buckets operate, but now they have 4 revenue biz classes, versus only 3 previously showing on Sabre, plus the one award class.

until they join, my quest for top tier FF status and glory is on hold but lucky enough i have not got anymore trips planned for rest of this year so no biggie.

On the flip side, im starting to get withdrawal symptoms, I feel like i NEED to fly, being stuck on the ground is not doing me any good!

going back on topic, it seems that most OW carriers have at least 4 Business class buckets (C, D, I , J) with the only exception being Mexicana.

It could be that Kingfisher is getting its fare system in line with OW. They did mention sorting out back end system alignment as a requirement for joining at the OW announcement press conference.

i can do with some time away from the air....

last year i broke my leg & was on bed rest for almost 6 weeks....i got a call from jet when i hadn't travelled for about a month....i told them about my leg & that it would still be another month or so before i resume travelling duties....a couple of days later i got a get well soon card from them....

my wife thought that was really sweet of them....i thought its a bit scary when the airline starts to miss you....

Have you considered switching to Air India, with the amounts you fly, you will probably get Praful Patel as your personal travel liaison contact from within Air India!

Just imagine all the unofficial perks of being an Air India top flyer:

1) Exempt from security searches
2) 24hr bodygaurd from your own personal CISF crack commando unit.
3) A welcoming commitee every time your land with a "Phool ka Haar" placed around you by the local MP
4) direct line to the captain to order him to go wherever you need to be
5) power to help yourself to any Air India items from onboard the aircraft and from within any terminals. This perk is specifically to fill up your home!!!

i know i do....& believe me, for the last couple of years i have been seriously trying to cut back....have been getting some people from my firm to take up some of the travelling duties & it has reduced my travel by about 10-15%....

i was really happy during my first year as a road warrior but after that it starts to get to you....

Okay, although everyone is having fun in this thread, back OT!

I discovered I was in Apollo and not Sabre with KVS, as KVS doesn't show same day flight info, AFAI have tried.

ExpertFlyer doesn't show Z-class also, which means they don't have a Sabre back-end/GDS.

That's incorrect. I just double checked and both Z and R classes are still shown on ExpertFlyer using the Award/Upgrade search tool. They don't show in the regular Flight Availability results because they are hidden. We also show the same day flight information

I was only looking at revenue/normal flight availability, which is being shown in Sabre/KVS.

Now we know that you support IT in your award searches, we can look there.

Also, tip for KVS/Sabre - use a time 4 hours ahead of current time to check close-in flight available classes of travel.
