Actually SQ involves a stopover in either HKG or ICN, transit at SIN and a 7 hour layover at SIN (I.E. You would prolly take SQ 1 departing SF at midnight, arriving SIN at 12NOON connecting at 1900 to AMD)

Best connection is on Emirates
EK 226 SFO DEP 1545 DXB ARR 1925
CONNECT
EK 538 DXB DEP 2305 AMD ARR 0310
This works for DEP SFO all days X1 as EK 538 doesn't operaton on Tuesday

LH and UA flights both arrive SFO with inadequate tim to connect the FRA-AMD AI FLIGHT.
UA 900 ARRIVES AT 0945
LH 455 ARRIVES AT 10:10

AI 144 TO AMD DEPARTS AT 1000

This option requires overnight layover at FRA

Re SQ - Do note SQ does not fly daily from SIN to AMD.

Also, please note AMD is a mess when international flights come in. With the AI and SQ flights arriving within a few hours of each other, there is usually a one hour line to get into the terminal building. Apparently the number of health officers / doctors for the H1N1 checks as well as Immigration Officers is quite small, and cannot handle the 400 + passengers who arrive on these two flights.
Baggage claim is a joke, with another hour wait, and the area around the carousel jam packed with passengers and trolleys, so you cant get to your bag even if you see it

I would fly to BOM and then take a domestic to AMD

If EK does not work, second option is domestic flight to EWR (CO or UA) and then connect on to AI flight EWR to AMD with a stop at FRA, but no plane change.

Note that SQ only flies twice a week to AMD and hence may not be a convenient option.

If he's flying home for a holiday or something it might make sense to just fly SQ - wins hands down in Y, J or F compared to most if not all other carriers on that route.
