Avios Reward Flight + Gift Card
I saw Iberia has another 15% off on gift cards and now that I can finally access my IB Plus account I'm looking into flights. Is it possible to pay the cash portion of a reward flight with a gift card?

One is a reward flight using Avios.
The other is a paid flight when you get a small discount by spending Avios.
Only the second works for spending IB gift cards. (and FWIW is usually a poor use of Avios)

Incidentally, it appears that the gift card can also be used on cash bookings that involve other airlines, like BA and AA, as long as at least part of the trip is on IB metal. It said so in the gift card's T&Cs and I tried it out on a test booking involving some AA flights and it worked.
