Can I take a duty free bottle through T4 security at MAD?

I'll be flying from DFW to FCO, with a layover in MAD, so I will land at T4S and will need to clear security at T4. Could anyone confirm that I am allowed take a bottle of liquor in a sealed duty free bag purchased in the US through the T4 security screening?

I seem to recall that EU regulations permit it as long as the bag is sealed and has the original receipt attached to it. The Madrid Barajas airport website is ambiguous about this, so I would appreciate it if anyone could confirm that it's feasible.

Cannot say for sure, but I know when I bought Duty Free in Palma, I could take it through Madrid. (In the tamper proof bag and reciept).

From PMI, you wouldn't need to clear security again. Plus a European airport is well aware of the clear plastic bag requirement.

Whether MIA duty free is willing and able to follow the European rules, who knows... I've certainly lost a nice bottle of Cuban rum at MAD because it wasn't in the right kind of plastic bag...

That's what I'm afraid of. Thanks.
