Platino (re)qualification question
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to work it out.
I qualified with Platino last year with around 7000 elite points by 31/3/2019, which went past the required threshold of 6,250.
Now when I log into my account page it says I have Platino for 2 years, expiring April 2021, with a requirement to earn 12,500 elite points by 31/3/2021.
So, if I earn 6250 elite points again this year, does it make any difference..? Does the status extend another year to 4/2022 or remain at 4/2021?
This suggests I could I sit and do nothing for one year, and then put everything into the second year, but seemingly require 12,500 elite points to maintain Platino?
I guess given my travel plans, if I am not travelling this year much, but plan on doing 'some' travel in 2020, I might as well credit to another program (whilst taking OWE benefits through the IB card) - as the bar with any other programme will be much lower than the 12,500 required entirely in year 2 ?

It appears that you qualified for the first time for Platino. Therefore, to requalify you need to do 6,250 elite points in your first year of the two year cycle - i.e. before April 2020. If you fail, then you have until April 2021 to do the 12,500...
Doing either gets you Platino status until April 2023.

I have a similar question. I qualified for Platinum for the first time last year (and it is valid until April 2021). This year I’m going to go more than 6250 tp too, but the bar shows the requirement of 12500 before 31/03/21. If I reach the 6250 the first year I understand that I would get Platinum until April 2022? Would I get 2 additional upgrades too?
