I tried to redeem my HP free night last Tuesday online and got a message saying that I had to make award reservations 7 days in advance. I wasn't happy but thought I couldn't complain about a free night. BUT then I called the Diamond Line and they processed it immediately for that evening. Thanks Hyatt!

Unfortunately, this is a problem with all award nights with Hyatt (bookable online only up to 7 days in advance).

Got a free night award and I only matched to Hyatt from SPG on Tuesday. Thanks Hyatt.

Thanks Hyatt!

Got one too. Thanks Hyatt. The way I found out was when I was booking a night at Hyatt PLace and the agent told me about it.

Not sure though I will use it as I would rather collect FFN.

Does anyone knows if this is transferable?

Thanks

As far as I know at this point, the official policy is that like with FFNs, "it is not transferable". In other words, that means the Diamond member who was credited with this award must be included as the registered guest in the bookings using this award.

I actually stumbled on my while going through my Hyatt account.

Then I came here to verify.

Thanks Hyatt!!!

One question I did not see as I went through 3 pages on this thread:

WHY did we receive this? (Certain travel activity, nice gesture, ect..(Both?))

Also just a thought for Hyatt - It would be great if we could get an email next time...I almost never check "My promotional awards" and would have missed it...........unless that was your intention ;)

Because Hyatt is apparently doing everything it can think of to expand market share in this down time, in contrast to virtually every other travel company in the industry; because they are trying extra hard to retain their most loyal customers; because they want us to "discover" HP and SS; and because they have the excess capacity.

Or, as Jimmy used to say on Mickey Mouse Club:

"Whyyyyy...? Because we LIKE you!"

:)

Thanks Firewind.

But I guess you missed the point of the question.

What was the activity that triggered it?

A) Just because we are Diamond (That may be the case)

B) Book a certain pattern and you got the free night (perhaps)

C) Other?
