Multiple hotels on same night
Sorry if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find it in a search.
I will potentially have to be in two places at the same time in a couple of months. If I book two different hotels for the same night, will I receive two night and stay credits and will both stays count towards the FFN?
Thanks.

Technically, no. But, you could try explaining to customer service you needed to be in 2 places on the same day. I would back it up with some proof. It might work.

You mean you'd actually check in to each of them during the day, and trade beds overnight? Please do share the secret of how you can be in two places at the same time? Then which came first the chicken or the egg? And finally, how did they get the caramel into the Caramilk?
I know that if this is done in the Priority Club program, you will get points for both stays but one will be recorded as a non-night/stay eligible posting for any bonuses or elite credit.

I was considering doing the same thing. I want to earn a few FFN's in Jan, prior to a mid-January vacation. I was hoping to mattress-run and check into 2-3 Hyatts/PHs in my town the same night in order to generate 1-1.5 FFN.
Will this not work?

That isn't allowed. A few years ago I seem to remember someone legitimately was going to be in 2 hotels for the same night. I believe he had a meeting that would run late and then would need to go to another city to actually sleep.
He had to contact customer service and explain what he did in order to get both credits, I think he may have had to provide proof as well.

Still not as the room is supposed to be occupied by the diamond member to get the credit and benefits. Hotel may be oblivious b/c you can check in in person but the GP will question the qualification of such stay for the stay credit and points.

If I want to stay at a local HP is it ok to make two separate res' for a weekend stay? For example, can I book a Friday night, check out Saturday AM and then check back in again Sat. night and get two stay credits?

Nope. Consecutive stays could as a single stay.
You're going to have to hotel hop just like the rest of us

You can do that, but the computer will combine back-to-back stays at the same property as one stay.

Seems it would be more prudent to just leave the night before. Thank you very much.

I have been staying in two hotels on the same date(s) but that was due to: (a) to time zone differences; and/or (b) keeping a room in one city/country while going away for some days to another city/country within the period of time that I retained my room in the other place. For many programs, I got credit for the reservations but it required a manual adjustment many times.
