Average number of points/$ spent
Looking at all the bonus offers and regular bonuses out there (Gx, MC, targeted 3k, 1W, standard diamond/plat bonuses) I decided to figure out what is the average number of points I got per $ spend in the last year. It turns out that for the 1 year period ending today I am averaging just above 20 points/$ (or 5 cpp - cents per point), which I think is pretty good.
During this time I have redeemed points and FFNs (only 3) for reward stays worth in my eyes at least $5k and that's based on the prices for the cheapest rooms at the properties I stayed in at the time of my stay. The rooms I actually got as a diamond would have been at least 2 times more expensive had I had to pay for them.
How are others doing?
