Suite upgrade
I am staying two nights each at PH Milan and PH Zurich. I used my GP Points for these stays. I just got a free upgrade certificate for being a diamond member. Technically, I can't use the certificate because I didn't pay for these stays. Do they bend the rules sometimes when there's suite availability?
Also, I would be driving my new BMW to the hotel and from what I heard parking is very expensive at Milan. Does anybody know cheap and reliable garage near the hotel? Does PH Zurich charge for valet parking? I forgot where I got the information, but I thought it was free.

The Park Hyatt Zurich charges for valet parking - forgot how much but it is very expensive. When asking for an upgrade they always tell you that the hotel is sold out...classic answer but worth being validated. They do not have a RC but you are entitled to free breakfast. Make sure they forget to take it off the invoice. The restaurant is quite nice and enjoy a table by the window...again...if they are not fully booked ! ...and again worth being validated.

PH Milan
For PH Milan, I tried using the suite upgrade cert on one occasion (FFN + points stay) and they told me they ran out of suites. On another occasion (FFN + points) they simply upgraded me to a junior suite without asking. They treat diamonds very nicely at this property.
For parking, I did street parking for the two visits last year. Usually you can find a spot right outside of the hotel or a block away. I might not do that with a new car of my own. But it does add up for 40E a night for 10 nights.
