Diamond for CEOs?
I know a corporate CEO who only occasionally stays at Hyatts but received a Diamond card. Does anyone know if it's Hyatt policy to give Diamond status comp to CEOs?

That is news to me, and I am not sure if I believe it to be true. What size company would one have to run to be deemed worthy of the comp?

This is the first I've heard of this type of thing but I'm not surprised if the CEO is of a company that generates a huge amount of nights for Hyatt via a corporate contract. The car rental companies do it and I think many airlines do it also.

This is what Larry Kellner (Continental CEO) would refer to as "Wallet Candy." Costs the company nothing to issue and the holder rarely uses it.

I know one CEO of a public company who is diamond and he definitely had to earn it! In fact, no one has given this CEO anything from ANY travel company. You usually have to be big enough to have a corporate deal before these kinds of perks show up, I think.
