Platinum Extras- send in for points?
I have 2 platinum extras that will be expiring soon. Short of posting them on Coupon Exchange to be given away, can I send them back to Hyatt for points? Or can they be used at a Hyatt while not staying there (for example, have cocktails or dinner and get the 1000 bonus points). I know airlines take back their upgrade certificates this way. I saw one on ebay for sale for $10 but that just seems like a hassle for me.

Excellent. I'll probably do that then. I suppose I won't be able to use 2 at the same time...
Anyone have experience on my other question about sending them back to Hyatt for say.. 500 points?

I assume you were staying at that property while you were having lunch?

Really?? That certainly is news to me.
Are you sure that you are not mixing programs, as the only program that I am aware of the awards points for meals without a stay is SPG!! ^
I wish Hyatt and Marriott actually followed SPG's lead in this respect.

Bonus La Jolla 03/30/04 1,000 P
I didn't get points for the meal expense per se, but I got the bonus by using the voucher. I was not staying in the hotel.
And here is the thread where I posed the question on FT, before going to the Hyatt.

Cert states you dont need to stay to earn bonus pts for dining
The Plat Extra cert states you dont have to be a registered hotel guest to take advantage of the bonus pts for dining. But it does state you must purchase lunch or dinner at a particpating Hyatt restaurant or through in room-dining (must have a room for this one).
How do you know if they Hyatt you plan on using is participating ?

platinum extras
I have only had 3 stays in Hyatts this year
and I was checking prices of a stay in BRU and noticed that a platinum extras voucher should be sent out after every 3 stays. Should I have had one as my last stay was in May?
Do I call Hyatt to get them to send it and how long are they valid for?
Thanks in advance.

What if you are not staying in the hotel and are not using a Platinum cert? Can you earn points just going in and having a meal? And while were on the subject what if you get a massage when you not a guest? I'm asking this because the Vineyard Creek property just became a Hyatt and is only minutes from my house.
Thanks!
