5 stays so far (2 1/2 FFN earned) with 2 more planned by August. Then will use them for a single stay in August. That will make give me 15 stays for the year; wonder if it's worth it to plough on through to make Diamond, which I've never been before...would like to experience the amenities and clubs. A local property comes up on PL for < $50, should I just do the check-in/check-out thing?

I'm planning on several days in London while I can still plan on access to the RC. I've only earned .5 to date, which probably means a few mattress runs lurk in my near future.

Hmmm, interesting. His posts are gone. I couldn't even see them in the user post history, and I couldn't even find the ONE post that you mentioned was left. I thought I was crazy when you said you didn't see them, then I realized you were right about the censor job by the Bidding Nazi. holtju2: NO POST FOR YOU!!!!!! I wonder what he did to p!ss her off? Oh well, just go check out his bids on betterbidding.com where they're much more friendly anyways. Most of them are listed there.

Yes. I have done serious Hyatt hopping this month in the LA area. I have spent more nights at the Hyatt Newporter than in my home in Santa Monica. After getting 1500 eBay Anything Points (basically $15) and 1500 British Airways FF miles per stay plus FFN every two stays the price of the night is REALLY resonable.

I had not been critical of BFT but I got banned for removing my posts after Sheryl had sent me a nastygram.

If you need advise for getting LA area Hyatts using Priceline you can send me an email.

Tonite is my 9th stay, since 6/1, and have 4 FFN's so far, 3 of which are used for GH HK for the Aisa Do in Sept. Sticking to weekend stays with 1500 or 2000 GP bonuses, Greenville, SC, Cinncinnati, Reston and Woodfield. Weekend of the 4th I have Greenville ($44.50,) Reston ($54.50,) Cinncinnati ($49.50) and Greenville ($44.50,) generating 2 more FFN's and 8700 bonus points plus the usual points and DIA bonus. Not PL either. Total so far, I have 28 stays reserved thru 9/5, plus the FFN stays themselves, after I decide where and when. Guess I should hurry and decide. That should be enough.

How are you getting the gp bonus on PL stays? It has been posted that the diamond desk will no longer add this bonus to PL stays.

Sorry, I thought it was clear that these are NOT PL stays, but are rates from Hyatt.com bookings. PM me for details. I did have 3 PL stays and no GP bonuses, except the 300 point airline bonus.

While e-bay values the anything points at $0.01 each they are really worth about $0.02+ each if you transfer them to AA miles though points.com through the end of the month (3 more days). There is an aniversary deal where the points are doubled (plus a 25% bonus if you sign up for a plus membership). I've got about 45k AA miles in the last month this way. I think they even count toward MM status when transferred.

you mean during the period July 2, 3 & 4 you are staying in those locations ? they are not even nearby cities - so you also plane hoping among them ? that is amazing.

There has been indepth discussions about what is the "real" value of a FF mile. For me and based on my spending I would say that it is closer to 1 cent than 2 cent per mile. I also don't want to "over" value them because of the documented usage problems lately on various airline forums.

I have, however, been positively surprised that I have been able to book the following FFN's so far:

2 nights Hyatt in New Oreans
3 nights at the Park Hyatt in Sydney
2 nights at the Park Hyatt SFO, 1 night at the Grand Hyatt SFO
2 nights at the Park Hyatt NYC, 1 night at the Grand Hyatt NYC
