MGM Rewards Gold and Above - waived resort fee

Don't have a data point on earned points yet, but I also imagine this should also be in line with the program rules.
EQNs on both rooms I think would be the only point of contention. You really shouldn't get them, but I can imagine some buggy scenario handling on both the MGM side and the the Hyatt side that might result in a bank error in your favor.
I will have a data point -- but not until late August -- when I will have a 3-night stay running concurrently with an 8-night stay.

It hasn't happened to me with both rooms at same hotel same nights. I've had something wonky happen with different dates at different properties.

I am curious to hear what is the cheapest Globalist acquisition/retention that is had this year from relying mostly/exclusively on MGM hotel stays done on the cheap using this resort fee waiver benefit.

But that'd be a lot of annoying trips though -- and way too much time spent at Excalibur . So I'm not quite getting it that cheap this year, but won't be too far off.
What I am doing is just going to Vegas as I normally would -- for normal 2-3 day trips -- but just booking an extended stay each time using some combination of comp nights and cheap rooms. So even though I'll only stay in the room for a night or two through the weekend, I will book the weekdays through the following Friday/Saturday, which I can usually get for pretty cheap -- $13@Excalibur, $17@Park MGM, $25@MGM Grand / Mirage.
This usually will net me a 7-9 EQNs for less than $100 bucks all in. Do that 4-5 times, stack that on top of my usual travel patterns, and I'm well on my way to renewing Globalist without going too far out of my way to explicitly "mattress run".

May I ask how you are getting $13 rooms at the Excalibur? Based on status? Best I'm able to find on weekdays is their 15% off of $25-30. Thanks.

most comp rooms are weekdays. So on a 5 night stay nights 1 to 3 may be free and nights 4 and 5 are $50 each. So 5 nights will show up as $100 and averaging $20 a night. (Just a sample calculation not representing the FTer you quoted).

mix and match comp rooms and averaged per night.

so in this 5-night example, where it's 4 comp + 1 paid, my average daily rate is actually less than $3.
But instead of doing that, I usually do something like this -- which gets me 8 nights for around 60 bucks -- less efficient, but requires fewer trips to Vegas.
Oh, and they give me resort credit not top of that -- which means they're more or less paying me to renew Globalist.
[ Never mind the casino's Average Daily Theoretical calculations -- I'm actually doing pretty well on that front also ]

actually, in my case -- this isn't the average rate. $13 is the rate only on paid nights. comp nights are still free. it helps that I'm MGM Platinum

But yes, very good deals all around if you can work it.
edit: I apparently don’t gamble enough because I have no weekend comp nights like you in August and have only 2 weekday comp nights at Excalibur under this month’s offer although some of the weekday prices are showing between $15-$18 for me at Excalibur.

Hah - fair enough! Never said I actually stay/sleep in these -- typically I'll have a comp in a different chain that I actually stay in, and will either leave the room empty or give it to a friend who's also coming into town that weekend.
Was mostly showing Luxor/Excalibur for illustrative purposes -- that one can get 60 nights for roughly $2.60/night + tax this year with sufficient MGM status and enough trips to Vegas. Though again -- 12 trips to Vegas is a lot, and not worth it unless you're a relative local.

Here now. Resort fees are not showing up night-to-night on my folio. A promising data point that their removal is becoming more automated.

Good to see their IT departments are getting this in line.
But at the same time, if they're getting their house in order, we might also reasonably expect various IT bugs that have resulted in bank errors in our favor to get sorted out also. :/

Just FYI they manually added resort fees for my third room because the Ts and Cs state max two rooms get no resort fees. (I assumed 3 based on Hyatt Ts and Cs but that was wrong.) I only mention it because they would have come off automatically except I asked a manager a question, got his attention, and then he added the resort fees back.
