Studios at Alila Seminyak (closed for rebranding) REVIEW - MASTER THREAD
Has anyone stayed here on points? It's attached to the Alila Seminyak and guests staying at the studios can use all the amenities of the main resort. Tripadvisor reviews are tough to go through as many people leaving positive reviews are actually staying at the much higher priced Alila Seminyak in a more luxurious studio in the main property vs the more budget "studio" property that is on the outskirts of the Alila Seminyak. Main complaints are noise from the bars and restaurants and the long wait times for golf carts to/from the main property. We have three nights booked and don't mind a room that isn't as luxurious taking that it's only 5k on points. We just want to avoid being put in a room with bass shaking noise. I'm not able to tell if there are also complaints from the Alila Seminyak where the more luxurious studios seem to also be near some night clubs.
It seems even though the two properties share the same facilities and even the same check-in desk they will not allow for a paid upgrade from the studios to the main property studios. Some leaving reviews have been upgraded upon check-in or are moved to the main property after several noise complaints. We are staying here due to our late arrival and more of a base for private tours before moving on to the Alila Villas Uluwatu.

Mid August stay
I spent two nights there and I felt it was a bargain for 5000 points, Yes you can use all of the facilities of the resort as well as a great buffet breakfast. The pool and beach area are very nice but can get full, as people reserve chairs with there towels. The rooms themselves are clean and large but starkly finished but the beds are huge and comfortable.
I hope you enjoy your stay.

As a side note, for those who aren't Globalist and do not get a free breakfast, I saw someone point out there is a place just outside of the Alila Studios building for breakfast called Clean Canteen Bali that was recommended for breakfast.

I had wondered about that. I had seen some reviews mentioning two buildings and which one to ask for.

and they honoured that by giving us room on 3rd fl(Highest) facing the Balinese house. You can still hear some noise faintly(its busy area anyways)
but not too bad even for sensitive sleeper like myself. Perhaps you can also request room away from the bars too.

We just wrapped up a three night stay. Unfortunately, even though we asked about a week or two in advance (and again on checkout), the best they could do was a ground level floor in the middle of the hotel. Noise came from both the rear and front door, as well as from above. Nothing that we couldn't deal with. Monday and Tuesday night had no bar noise. Wednesday we had a decent amount of bar noise up until 11pm. The front desk told us that's when the bar stops the loud noise. I'm not sure if that is the same during the weekend, but it wasn't a major inconvenience for us. There are numerous noise related negative reviews on Tripadvisor so it might be worth reaching out to the hotel before staying here if things are any different during the weekend.I'm not sure if is worth booking a standard room at the Alila Seminyak for 20k unless they upgrade you to the main building. Our room at the Alila Studios was a bit worn. Doors in for the bathroom would not shut correctly, lighting was pretty bad in the room, and there is a lack of power outlets. That said, for 5k I felt this was a pretty good value. We arrived late in the evening and used the hotel as a jumping off point for tours and had a pool/spa day.
I saw numerous reviews complaining about the lack of golf carts to bring you back and forth to the main building. We never ran into this and for a majority of the day the 5 minute walk is not an issue unless the sun is directly overhead. Access to the pools was great. The gym was nice, but nothing to write home about. Housekeeping refreshes the fruit and free snacks daily. They also leave behind a different type of miniature cookies each evening. The ground floor has a larger balcony. Though, anyone could easily access the area. So you'd want to remember to lock the door when leaving your room.
We opted not to take breakfast in the hotel as it is $20++ per person. Instead we tried Clean Canteen (2 min walk) and Kim Soo (5 min walk) which were both ~$15 for a full breakfast and coffee for two.

Booking a trip to Bali for the first time.
We want Hiking in the forest + Beach + plus some nightlife.
How is this hotel for the Beach and nightlife? Also how far into the forest?

There are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. If you want more partying you could take a taxi down to Kuta. The Studios have access to the Alila Seminyak pools which are great and overlook the beach. While the view is great, it's not particularly a beach I'd want to spend a day on, but that's more of a personal preference. You're not going to be close to any hiking or forest.

that building is no longer part of the studios. Those rooms are part of the main Alila now. I was hoping to get a room there in that middle building next month but it seems unlikely.

Had another one night stay before flying out to another Indonesian island and would like to note that while hotels cheap redemption rate and central location is good. But hygiene and maintenance of the room is not. Hope Hyatt and Alila spends some time and money maintaining the soft furnishings at the least.. Curtains in the room were so filthy!
Black at the edges and Picture can’t tell the sheer amount of dust and debris when opened the curtain... Not recommended for people with allergy or hygiene-obsessed!

Here now as I type this.
Cat 1 = 5,000 is fine.
Part of me can be critical of the quality and room, and the otjher part of me is happy for 2 rooms at 5,000/e per night for 3 nights as I head to UBUD.
Doing 14 days in Bali 2 rooms all on Hyatt points and awards. Alila Studios then Alila Ubud then Grand Hyatt Bali. (also used points for 5 of us to get here 2 business r/t on Turkish & LH + rug rats in Econ)

Ok so a couple of more thoughts to help out those booking here in the future.
I booked 2 rooms @ 5k per night at the studios.
Now being at the Property 3 days NO QUESTION "if" I came back here I would do the suites for 20k per night. They have decks. That is the key. I like to go on my deck and have a drink at night and being stuck in this room is tough.
If I was rebooking I would put my kids (23, 21) in the studios (for 5k) and I would book myself and the mrs. in the Suites with the deck.
That would be the Best of both worlds.
Book the suite.
