Hotel Hyatt site is live with a Summer 2024 date (and it looks like PG.backpacker flagged already here).

Excited for this one! The mobile app has a bug that will show the category for this hotel to be the category of the last viewed hotel when using the map view. I almost jumped when I saw it said cat5. One can dream...

I will be staying at the Grand Fiesta Americana located next door this weekend. Will try and get some pictures and report back.

my guess is Cat6 max., don’t see a sustainable demand for $1000/n stays in a failed state at a beach resort where you can’t get in the water

Sustainable demand for $1000/n stays is exactly what the top end of Cabo is and has been for quite some time.

Plus The Cape is already a cat 7 -- hard to imagine this being less than a 7 or 8 given that.

agreed. will be a cat 7 or 8 is my feeling. would make zero sense to be a lower category than the Cape.

Please do get some photos! And ask around about whether summer 2024 is likely.

Construction photos

So I haven’t had a chance to ask around if anyone knows the timeline. Make your own judgements from the photos. Apologies for the weird angles and crops as I took these from a moving vehicle.

Wasn't the issue less the installation of the detectors and more the turning off of the detectors?
