World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes
Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
- Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
- The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
- This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
- For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
- World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
- 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
- 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
- 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- Discoverist status every year
- 5 qualifying night credits every year
- No foreign transaction fees
- Travel & purchase coverage
Other notes and tips
Chase spending tracker
- The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
- Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
- Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
- Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
- Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

I had a similar problem in September with receiving my Chase IHG Anniv. Cert. Chase said it would come in Oct. IIRC, after my AF would post on Oct. 1. I emailed IHG via their Website ("Contact Us") and they took care of everything the next day. She also gave me my 2500 points rebate from a 25K award stay in July, which always used to post a month later.
Perhaps Chase &or the hotels have changed their strategy to wait until the AF has been paid/ is non-refundable to issue the cert.s! So we can't grab the cert., cancel, and run !

Same issue here. Card anniversary was 10 days ago and no free night. Have not had issues in the past. 10 weeks is a bit ridiculous if that is what they are intending. Wonder if they will start the 12 month free night expiration clock when it actually lands in your account or from the anniversary date.

What is everyone's experience with points that show up on your statement as earned to the time when the points post in your Hyatt account? For Amex cards (eg HH Aspire), points show up in your HH account the day the statement closes (and statement posts online). My statement closed 10/17 and still nada posted to my account.

The T&C don't seem like much help:
Earn Additional World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night Credits Each Calendar Year: You, as the primary cardmember, will earn 2 World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits for every $5,000 in Purchases. Purchases are when you, or an authorized user, use a card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won't count: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. Chase and Hyatt have the right to determine which purchases qualify for this offer. Chase and Hyatt reserve the right to change or end this offer at any time. There is no limit to the number of World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits that you can earn. An authorized user will not receive World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night Credits. World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits are valid from the date of issuance through December 31st of the same calendar year. World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits will apply to achieving World of Hyatt status and milestone benefits applicable to Tier-Qualifying Night requirements (as outlined in the program terms). Please allow up to 8 weeks from the last day of the calendar month when you qualify, for World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits to be added to your World of Hyatt account. To qualify for the World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits, your account must be open and not in default at the time of processing and fulfillment. Chase is not responsible for offer fulfillment or the provision of or failure to provide the stated benefits and services.

So just got around to cancelling my old card (yes I'm slow but I used the original bonus for the PH Tokyo so some sentimental value )
What is the conventional wisdom on whether to wait 30 days to apply for new WOH card? I see that some FTers applied as little as 6-8 days later and were approved. Would like to get this done in mid-November at the same time as a couple of non-Chase apps.

Remember to use a referral link when applying for the new one. If you don't have one, plenty of people here can provide one. Good luck.

question: if you are a "re-qualifying Globalist" w/ new hyatt cc:
60 nights -5 (cc) -5( former diamond re-qual) = 50 nights total to re-qualify for globalist (which would actually be 48 if one meets 6K spend bonus)?
Correct math or no?

I was a Hyatt Diamond and in 2017 was a WoH Globalist as a result. But during 2017 I did not re-qualify as Globalist for 2018. This year, 2018, I did requalify as Globalist for the upcoming year (2019), but only after making 60 nights. To my knowledge, nothing happened at 55. If I understand correctly, during 2019, as a current Globalist, I will only need to hit 55.
