World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes
Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
- Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
- The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
- Expires 1 year after issuance
- Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
- Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
- The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
- This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
- Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
- For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
- World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
- 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
- 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
- 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- Discoverist status every year
- 5 qualifying night credits every year
- No foreign transaction fees
- Travel & purchase coverage
Other notes and tips
Chase spending tracker
- The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
- Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
- Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
- Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
- Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

Has anyone actually received the new card yet?
UPDATE - I called today and was told the "plastic" has not been produced yet. Uncertain if that is just me or all accounts. I was now told 14 days to ship.

Hi all, just thought I would add a data point.
Had the old card for almost 4 years, so I decided to cancel and apply for the new WoH card. Canceled on Mon, tried applying on Tues, but got the 30 day message. Called them and was told the application automatically declined (without even doing a credit check), because they still showed my old card as being active. Was told to wait until my billing cycle completed (on the 17th). I've had $0 balance on this card for over a month, so it wasn't an issue of outstanding balance.
On a whim, I tried the application again today (Thurs), and was automatically approved. So it seems you do not quite need to wait for a full billing cycle to close, just need to wait at least a few days.
Has anybody had luck getting the card expedited?

DP. Just approved for this card. 30 day message on the call in line but after several days the card just appeared on my Chase login. I am lol/24, but no Chase apps in last 30 months (1 AU on DW's CSP). Currently have 4 Chase cards other than this new Hyatt.

One more DP to add: applied for card online on 7/1, got '30 day' message. Never had any Hyatt cards before, but do have old IHG and 2 other Chase UR cards, all active. 7/24, 810-824 TU/Ex. Denied for Ink Unlimited from 6/1, with a recon going nowhere with a surly CSR. Called up auto status line next day, get '2 week' message. Decided to wait it out as I really do not want to deal with those Chase CSRs. Finally approved this morning, 7/7, with 24k limit to boot! No more apps for me for rest of the year

I have the "old" Hyatt credit card, bonus received more than 2 years ago. I just received the annual free night cert and my annual fee posted on July 1st. Can I now cancel the credit card, keep the free night cert, get the annual fee refunded, and then at some point in the future apply for this new Hyatt credit card with the 60K point bonus?

That's what I'm asking. Will they claw back the free night if I cancel and get annual fee refunded?

What you are going to do is (a) legit; (b) SOP; and (c) what I will do when my certificate posts.
Here's the controlling language:
To qualify for this Free Night Award, you must be the primary cardmember and your card account must be open and not in default at the time the award is issued.
If Chase followed the language in their terms and conditions and did not issue the certificate until well after the anniversary date (and, more important, the new AF posting and statement closing), then you/we would be SOL, as with the old Citi Hilton Honors (now Amex Ascend) card, where you really did have to pay the AF for the coming year, since there was a maintained lag in posting the free weekend night to Hilton. But, by your own admission, Chase has already turned over the free night to Hyatt.

No.

Here's the controlling language:
You paid your AF ... 11-12 mos. ago. Now you have your certificate. The certificate is with Hyatt, not Chase. This is not an Amex-like situation where the points-grantor is holding the points.

At the end of my application I was asked if I would be willing to move credit from one account to another. I said yes which resulted in a prompt asking me to call in. When I called in I was told that If I was approved for $30k but if I needed a higher credit line I would have to move it from another account. I said that amount was fine, and then after a long hold was told it would take another 24-48h to process my application and I would get a decision in 1-2 weeks. Sort of sounds like I was approved, any ideas how to expedite getting the card if so?
