Points with cash award as a Globalist- are resort fees waived?

Just making sure if all my globalist benefits are in order if I use the half points, cash option.

Yes, they are waived.

  • Enjoy waived resort fees on free night awards and eligible rates
"Eligible Rates" have typically included paid, P+C, and a limited set of third party travel agency bookings (typically Amex FHR, Prestige phone concierge, other non-online travel agencies). Practically anything booked online outside of Hyatt does not count as an eligible rate.

The only benefit specific to how you pay that I'm aware of is that parking is free only when you stay on a free night award (Either points or certificate).

Thanks for that. Just to play devil's advocate, it seems like it should be waived but not specifically stated that P+C is an eligible rate.

I've had plenty of P+C stays as globalist - never charged resort fee. Parking, yes - it's only required to be waived for points only, though occasionally I've had them waive this too on P+C stays.

I'm merely a Platinum who became a Discoverist. I've been (almost ) always exempted from Resort Fees on full awards, but charged on P&C nights.

Miraval resort fees not waived for gloabalists paying cash

called Hyatt yesterday. Miraval and M life resorts do not have waived freshet fees for globalists unless you pay ALL points.
I’m not pleased. When did this change? How did nobody tell us!?

It doesn’t mention Miraval but does mention that M life is not included in waived resort fees:

(l) Waived Resort, Destination, or Facility Fees: Resort, destination, or facility fees, where charged by the applicable hotel or resort, will be waived for Globalists when paying an Eligible Rate. (As described in Appendix B, resort, destination, or facility fees are waived for all Members when staying on a Free Night Award.) This benefit is not valid at any Hyatt Residence Club resort, Oasis Home, or M life Rewards destination. In some instances, a hotel or resort may charge other fees (such as a “service fee”) that are independent of any resort, destination, or facility fee charged by that hotel or resort. Any such fees will not be waived for Globalists pursuant to this benefit.

Miraval waived mine when I stayed there soon after the change, but I had to fight them. Hyatt first specifically said they were waived there, but it seems like they have silently just let them charge the fees now without changing the T&C and have gone along with it. MLife has always been specifically excluded because they are not Hyatt properties.

Resort fees are waived:
- For ALL members, when booked on points
- For Globalists for ALL eligible rates.

So your scenario makes sense and is in line with T&C.

Also safe to assume that as Explorist, resort fees are not waived for P&C as it is not considered a Points stay in this context? Certainly seems to be implied above, but wanted to spell it out.

Cheers.

True, Brp! When I booked a Hyatt hotel last year (as a Discoverist,) I tried it both ways. Full-on points rez was exempt from RF, while P&C was subject to it.

Thanks Brendan. I didn't know if Explorist had a little more perkiness than Discoverist here for this, but I suspected not.

Cheers.

How many rooms?

How many rooms under a Globalist would have the resort fees waived?

What about Guest of Honor award bookings? I suppose the answer here is yes, since all award bookings have resort fees waived regardless of status of room holder.

Your Guest of Honor IS a Globalist through the duration of their stay. They get ALL Globalist benefits, including no Resort/Destination fees.
