Adapted from the wiki for Gold/Diamond Breakfast at Hilton family properties (master thread)

Current through post #66 (Hyatt Regency DCA by Wwads)

Specify the following:
  • Hotel's official name (include country, plus state in US and province/territory in Canada)
  • Club or Restaurant
  • Room service, ala carte or continental/hot buffet
  • Cap amount/number of guests included in benefit
  • Quality of food/service
  • Charges including gratuity removed on checkout
  • Other comments

Please don't:
  • Refer to hotels by the street name or intersection they're near, as this is confusing
  • Post about Hyatt Place or Hyatt House unless you are providing specific information unique to Diamond members and their breakfast benefits at that property, or unless the property has a unique or noteworthy offering (such as may be encountered at international Hyatt Place).
  • Ask questions about unlisted properties or ask for "any recent info" on a property already listed. These need to go in the thread specific to that property.

Breakfast definitions:
  • Full breakfast contains at least hot eggs and three other hot items, two or more of which are meat, and not counting bread.
  • Intermediate breakfast contains at least one hot item other than bread (e.g. hot eggs or bacon)
  • Continental breakfast is anything else, basically.

Diamond Breakfast Review

This has likely been covered in many of the individual hotel reviews but I haven't seen a thread dedicated to a Diamond Breakfast Review.

Thought it might be useful to start one so people know what to expect as the breakfast benefit varies widely from property to property, and even sometimes within the property depending on who's running the front desk.

1) Property Name
2) Club or Restaurant
3) Room service, ala carte or continental/hot buffet
4) Cap amount/number of guests included in benefit
5) Quality of food/service
6) Charges including gratuity removed on checkout
7) Other comments

Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on Del Monte Golf Course

1) Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on Del Monte Golf Course
2) TusCa Restaurant onsite, no club
3) Options are room service, ala carte or continental/hot buffet in restaurant
4) ~$25 each for up to 4 guests
5) Excellent service and very good food at TusCa
6) All charges including gratuity removed on checkout

Comments : Diamond Breakfast benefit is generous at this property, cap is loosely enforced and they are very flexible on use. Kids menu's / crayons offered. All charges painlessly removed at checkout.

2) Regency club on top floor
3) Continental buffet

6) N/A

Comments: Top floor regency club offers great 360 degree views. Currently partially obstructed by scaffolding.

Hyatt Regency Cleveland

1) Hyatt Regency Cleveland
2) 1890 Restaurant (No Club)
3) Full Menu weekdays, buffet weekends
4) Up to four guests, doesn't seem to be a cap on price
5) During the week, food is top notch, weekend buffet is a buffet
6) Gratuity and breakfast taken off bill, alcohol remains on (as expected)

Comments: Great service, half the time the family joins me and they always remember my son, bring him crayons and all stop by and say hi. Sometimes, I mix and match and everything comes off. For example, oatmeal with fruit, side of toast, coffee and a detox juice all are included.

@Hailstorm, I don't understand your #4 post. It's not a Diamond breakfast benefit if the guest has to completely pay for it.

Then I guess I don't understand the question. I thought it was refering to "guests" outside those staying in the room with you.

Of course, everyone staying in the room with the Diamond gets the breakfast benefit at no cost, as per HGP T&C.

And I think of guests as room guests to the hotel. I think you should clarify that you are referring to anyone outside of those registered to the room. I think multiple people in this thread have differing opinions on what the OP meant by # guests. Some think like you and some think like me. He/she needs to clarify.

It was meant as spend cap/guest and up to how many guests are included in the benefit. Typically it's defined as free breakfast up to x amount for up to 4 guests.

But this can vary, for example at the Hyatt Carmel Highlands, the free diamond breakfast benefit is only extended to 2 guests, regardless of how many are registered to the room.

1) Park Hyatt Vienna
2) The Bank Brasserie & Bar (no club lounge)
3) Room service, ala carte options and continental/hot buffet
4) Don't know.
5) Quality of food/service both great.
6) No charge at all
7) One of the most beautiful dining venue I've ever been. Note that the spread of the buffet is a little bit decreasing from my previous stay (October last year). the bar by the street (i cann't remember its name) was moved to The Bank Brasserie and become 'The Bank Brasserie & Bar'

This is incorrect. The current breakfast coupons being used at his property as of last weekend state that they are good for up to four registered guests.

Hyatt Regency Houston

1) Hyatt Regency Houston (downtown)
2) Shula's Restaurant; no lounge
3) Full hot buffet, including made-to-order omelettes and pancakes, or ala carte; don't know about room service
4) Have not had more than 2 guests; no apparent cap
5) Food & service both excellent
6) Charges including gratuity removed on checkout
7) I think they do Diamond breakfasts correctly. The servers ask if breakfast is included in my room rate before presenting the bill. After I tell them my I'm a Diamond member and my room number, the bill shows a 15%, IIRC, gratuity included in the total. I sign the bill and never see any charges when I checkout.
