Breakfast in the restaurant is excellent. Get the avocado toast and bread basket. No $ limit imposed on Diamonds, and they will give you a ticket upon checkin for each registered person in the room, up to 4. You must present the ticket to the server at breakfast, one per person.
Gym is small, but OK...no windows, very hot in there when I worked out. |

Thank you! With the price cheaper than a Hyatt Place was looking for a good breakfast and the 1K amenity. Too bad the gym looks like a HP gym. Any tips for cheap parking nearby?
|
You can find cheap parking in the area on SpotHero. There was info on street parking upthread (when it 1st opened.)
|
Thank you! Found parking for $19 a block away from the hotel! Much better than the $65!!
|
I use the Park Whiz app and typically pay about $20 bucks downtown on the weekends...parking at hotels in Chicago has become obscene!

Following up here, the breakfast here is amazing. In my opinion second to only the andaz 5th ave in New York! No set dollar limit for diamonds and you can also take it via room service! Order the burger , it's honestly one of the best I have ever had!

Too small, cramped, crowded, claustrophobic? Funky equipment, broken, limited?

Has anyone stayed in a suite that has the option of a connecting room (to create a two bedroom suite)?
|
Just completed a two night stay here. Really pleasantly surprised. Upgraded to a suite on the 21st floor (agent said I was "blocked into a suite").
Suite was very nice . . . they're on the corner of the building, looking toward the lake (could see a tiny of sliver of blue between buildings). Furnishings reminded me of Andaz WS. There's no desk, but a small table which sort of sufficed. Closet space is totally inadequate. (My GF would have had a big problem!) Bed was too hard for me, which is a common issue at Hyatts. But room was spacious, comfortable, and relatively quiet. At check-in they gave me vouchers for breakfast. These cover whatever you want. Breakfast was excellent. In fact, I'm a big fan of the restaurant (Cochon Volante), where I had two dinners and two breakfasts. Service was great and food was really excellent. The cheeseburger was outstanding. I would definitely return. |
Just checked in. Got a suite upgrade and love the restaurant. There's a bit of wear and tear though.
|
Just finished the stay here over the weekend. Was once again upgraded to a suite on the 22nd floor and given vouchers for breakfast at cochon volant. breakfast is amazing there and over the weekend you can have breakfast till 3 in the afternoon. This is going to be pretty much my go-to hotel in Chicago, I wanted to try the athletic association but the rates were just way too high. I was able to snag this $110 a night before taxes.

What is the parking situation like at this hotel? Is the walk to the offsite location irritating?
Also generally interested in opinions about this Centric vs the Centric Mag Mile. Heard there were some noise complaints at the Mag Mile location but unsure if that remains true today |
