How many points did you burn before the big devaluation?

My balance is down to 8k after burning 100k+ including 50k earned this year.

Really proud of myself and looking forward to staying at AndazNY and PH Tokyo

Haven't burned any points yet, as I don't consider them burned until the time of my stay.

There are still a lot of good deals around, so burning points at low redemption values does not make a lot of sense, only because one feels like a fool courtesy of Jay Z.

´Burned´ 44k recently at 5.5 cents per point and another 5k before that at 4.1 cents.

288,000. that was with 125,000 tfr in from chase. goes pretty quick with a couple of aspirational stays (PH SYD and Tokyo). plus, being someone who actually lives in hotels >1/2 the year on my own dime, had to lock in a long stay at the JKT GH, as it went up 50%- cat 2-3 is a killer %wise. 8k is a good deal when rooms are over $300/night (far far outside my budget).

i have 5000 left REALLY hoping SPG does a very mild devalue, as i need some powder dry for the next 12 months...

About 330,000. For one long suite reservation and a couple of smaller ones. Balance is down to 29K or so. Really thinking about holding onto points now only for cash + points and suite upgrades for expensive Cat 6 properties.

I could see using 33K for a suite night in Kauai under the old values, for example, but if I can get a night for 150 + 12.5 points and then apply a suite upgrade, that might be our plan going forward.

Burned through about 72k for four nights at the HR Grand Cypress for NYE next year and 88k for Andaz Papagayo later this year.

Plan to only use my points for points + cash stays and then maybe for a few Europe hotels next year.

I used 2 award nights and 66k points for a five night stay at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome in March-April.

While it's not as good of a deal anymore, I still like hyatt's award chart more than most. I'll probably keep the chase hyatt card that I have, as the free night in a 1-4 and plat status is worth the AF. Not sure how many more nights in top tier properties I'll use hyatt points for though. I could see booking stays in cat 3-5 hotels where the chart is similar, or doing points + cash. I think using Starwood points more often than I have in the past is a good plan going forward.

133,000 (Maybe more). But, I'd have burned those with or without the devaluation. Or, most of them anyway. Got a week's worth of bookings at Park Hyatts in Sydney and Melbourne.

572,000 between Hawaii & Costa Rica. But I'm hoping to switch some of these to C&P+DSU

No cc points, so I used all 48,000 points on HGP suite upgrades at various properties. Grand Cypress, PH Aviara and Andaz Maui.

Over 300K for 9 nights at PH Tokyo and 4 nights at PH Shanghai. Balance down to 600K. Luckily Cat 1-4 standard rooms have not gone up. I will use the remaining pts to fill out the additional nights for our trip. I agree this was a big one compared to past Hyatt devaluation but no where near the level of Marriott and especially Hilton which has decimated their programs.

I used 110,000 for a 5-night stay in May at the Hyatt Key West before the devaluation. Had I waited, it would've been 125,000 points.
