yes Hyatt Place East... I expect it will go lower, it's just a short hop away from the Element which is a far superior hotel and has much lower rates. Hyatt usually post higher rates prior to opening. At $294 you are better off taking a cab and staying in South Beach. Not worth it for that part of Miami.
It's East that opens on 1 July - and have you seen the rates?
Advance Purchase $294!
Looks really close to the airport - much closer than Hyatt House or the Hyatt Place West.

Well's it's South Beach... Tacky South Florida Tourist Ghetto not surprised it a Cat 6 I would think Hyatt would push for Cat 7.
Walking by the property this week I would be GREATLY surprised they could open by April. What is the date of the article you read? No way this hotel will be open in 90 days.
The new Hyatt Place West MIA just started to sell rooms and it's not opening till July 1st.

It talks about Hyatt South Beach and AC Hotel Miami Beach..."both set to open in April." So it says, anyway.

I doubt it will be April, I just walked by the hotel 2 weeks ago... it has a long way to go... A friend of mine has a condo across the street I'll ask for an update tomorrow.
Here's the link to the article that I read:

Finally can make a reservation, but Gold Passport won't confirm DSUs until the property is open (even though they can tell me the suite is available).
This is very frustrating for people who want to use DSUs that expire at the end of this month. GP declined my request to extend a DSU until the property is open and a suite can be confirmed,

Initial rates seem pretty aggressive, though I suppose that's par for the course for new properties, until they can get a feel for occupancy levels. I'm seeing winter weekend flexible rates of $499 for a base level king room with no view, which even for South Beach is high for a property that is neither on Ocean Drive (north of 5th) nor has direct access to the beach.

Drove by it during Memorial Weekend. Many lights were on but furniture had yet to be installed. It's a considerably small property.
For reference it's right across the Loews Miami Beach.
