Ability to Enter Any GP Code
Has anyone else realized that you can enter an incorrect GP Code when booking on the web; for example, GP2000 for a property with only a GP1000 offer? The cofirmation will print with the invalid GP code.
In the situation of having entered the wrong code, has anyone received 1) the higher incorrect points, 2) the offered points, or 3) no points?

Another nuance is that reservations use codes gp1000, gp2000, etc., but the hotels use two character codes. The hotel uses g1 and g2 respectively. I have tried to add GP1000 at a hotel and they didn't know how to add it but I later found out that GP1000 maps out to g1 on the hotels software. When you book on the web site, is there a field for the GP bonus codes or do you have to have it manually added? Also has anyone gotten gp1000/gp2000 and the 1000 online booking bonus for the same stay?

Sometimes the hotel will give you the [incorrect] higher bonus pts. the front desk clerk enters in (G2 even if they have a G1 bonus, for example), sometimes the system will adjust it and give you the correct bonus.
Highly unpredictable... I just always ask for a bonus even if one isn't officially available and if I get it, great, if not, no big deal!
