Platinum Comp Question

Hello...received a letter from Hyatt that offered a comp to Plat status until February 2005 if I stay at a Hyatt 2 times before December 15.

I already have a stay scheduled in Dallas for a conference this November.

Will be travelling to Seattle and using GP points for three nights at the Park Hyatt in early-December.

Question is this: If I *pay* for a 4th night at the Park Hyatt, would that count as a "stay", since I have already been there for three nights on GP award?

Also, does anyone know if Priceline stays would count as a "stay"? Nowhere does it say anything about a 'qualified rate' or Priceline not qualifying.

Im guessing you mean the Elliott Grand Hyatt; there is not a Park Hyatt in Seattle. You dont need to stay any extra nights. If you have Qualifying incidental charges to your room on an award or Priceline stay, you will get a stay credit. A phone call will work, but parking at the Elliott will not since it is contracted out. Also have dinner at the hotels restaurant, 727 Pine, it is very good.

Phone call at the Elliott Grand definitely works to activate stay credit on an award stay - I just did that last weekend.

Thanks for the info..I wasn't aware that incidentals would count as a stay credit even on an award res.

That's why Hyatt is great! (among other things)
