Using FFN or Points - in Dubai

I'm trying to decide whether to use 2 FFN in Dubai or 10,000 points at the Hyatt Regency there, 5,000 points a night. It seems pretty cheap since most good hotels are 8,000 or more. So I was leaning towards using points. However, I'm not sure that I will exhaust my 4 or 5 FFN before the end of the period. Any perspective?

Also anybody stay in Dubai? How is the Hyatt or would you recommend a Sheraton property?

From the pics I would vote for the GH Muscat, if it does not have to be Dubai.

The DXB Hyatt is fairly old, but it has a good location compared to some other hotels in the city. It has a beautiful lobby and it even has a VERY small ice skating rink and shopping center, also there is a movie theater at the Hyatt showing Arabic language films. Rooms are OK, just what you would expect from Hyatt, but not spectacular. Not sure what youre going to DXB for, but tourist things vs. business things dictate where one should stay.

I can confirm the previous posters remark in that the Muscat Hyatt is extremely nice. It is newer then the DXB Hyatt and it is in the upscale diplomatic area of Muscat. If you are going to the region for vacation and haven't been to MCT-it is a must. Maybe my favorite country in the world and you'll feel absolutely safe at all times. In fact, if you decide to go to MCT let me know I'll go with you

I'm flying in to Dubai. So I'm not sure how easy it is to get to Muscat. Unfortunately I'm only there for a weekend.
