How are GP Points Computed

On a recent GP statement I had three stays where I had used the (soon to become obsolete) UAL 50% discount certs.

The two domestic hotels treated the dollars I spent in the normal way (re GP base points and bonus points).

However, the Grand Hyatt Singapore gave me no GP points whatsoever for the $195 Singapore Dollars spent per nite (excl. of tax) for my 5 or 6 night stay.

What's up? Are the foreign hotel rules different? Or is it merely serendipity re whether points are awarded for the $$ spent in connection with the UAL awards?

I've stayed at the Singapore Hyatt using UAL certificates and gotten points, although they took several weeks to post.

Have you checked online to see if they are posted there? Otherwise request the points directly from GP.

Is there any wording on the back of the coupon about point or stay accumulation when using the certificate? (I vaguely remember something.)

Still, I've noticed some problems with my last few stays .. the last one didn't post at all, and the others had one or the other bonuses missing, so there are some problems going on there, at least for me.

I've been getting grief about 'discounted rates' not accruing points at the Park Hyatt Highlands Inn (see my post on Eligible rates for GP accrual). Maybe they are cracking down on accrual via the vague T&C or maybe it is the post Christmas party jitters at GP HQ...

I never got points for the room at the Park SF using US 50% off certificates but have other hotels (even on Priceline)!! I think the hotel may have some discretion on these "non-published heavy" discount stays.
