DN bonus: 2500 points for lounge closure
FAQ:
• T &C: During periods of high demand access to the Regency Club or Grand Club lounge may not be available; therefore Diamond members will receive 2,500 bonus points per stay plus daily complimentary full breakfast inclusive of one entrée (or standard breakfast buffet), juice and coffee (tax, gratuity and service charges included) for each registered guest in the room, maximum four (4) people.
• So….
1) Denied access to open club - full breakfast in restaurant + 2500 points.
2) Temporarily closed club - doesn't matter if it’s seasonal or day of the week (e.g. closed on weekends) - full breakfast in restaurant + 2500 points.
3) No club at property (or permanently closed club) - full Breakfast in restaurant, NO 2500 points.
• It's not really a property discretion issue about the 2500 compensation points but Corporate CS will verify with the property that the RC/GC that is usually open was indeed closed on the date of the stay.
• 2500 points per stay, not night (including if you have a long stay covering 2 separate weekends)
• If closed for any part of your stay, even with breakfast vouchers, you are eligible. e.g., if closes Sunday after breakfast and reopens Monday, guests staying on a Sunday night are eligible for the 2500 points.
• Some properties are good about posting this (HR Schaumburg) while others (HR Milwaukee) are not. May require a call on the Diamond line
• The bonus (in lieu of lounge access) is a Diamond benefit so you get it regardless of how you paid (points, cash&points, My Elite rate, corporate rate, Hotwire/Priceline,etc)
• DISCLAIMER: The times (months, days, hours) of lounge closure may fluctuate. Please take what you find here and verify with the property if a closed (or open) RC/GC is important to you.

But there's been an exception for the GH NYC lounge from the 2500 points. Has that changed? Again, it's not a property I normally stay at, just going by what I've read or think I've read here on FT.

It is definitely up to the individual to check with the hotel and not rely 100% on this list.
Thank you!

Didn't it just reopen in new larger space late in 2011?

Hyatt Grand Champions Indian Wells, CA-

Each summer they typically close the RC after July 4th until about Labor day. The exact date range is usually listed on their website, but I couldn't locate it just now.

I haven't been there in a while but HR Milwaukee's RC has for some time closed anywhere from noon to 9pm on Friday, not reopening until Monday. In my experience the clerks don't know the rule and require reminding of how it works; expect to chat with a couple confused but very nice people before they put it on your folio.

GH Tampa - that was mentioned above - I can confirm it has been closed every weekend I've been there.

Thanks much for starting this and for the offer to maintain the list!

HR Schaumburg

HR Schaumburg recently opened their Regency Club. They are closed weekends.

My question concerning these Clubs that close weekends. Do I get 2,500 point if I check out Saturday morning (Monday-Saturday stay) and/or check in on Sunday?

Unless they've just changed it, Irvine doesn't reopen until Monday evening.

Also, Huntington Beach had closed every year in late December to early January the last few years. Exact dates change year to year.

You get the points if you stay any night/morning that the club is closed. So for example, HR Irvine closes Friday after breakfast and reopens Monday evening, so if you stay Friday night, Saturday night, or Sunday night you get the 2500 points.

The Hyatt Regency North Dallas lounge is closed "indefinitely" (NOT just on weekends) and I did NOT get the 2500 points for a stay this past weekend. Boo.

I have 2 upcoming stays where I should qualify for the 2,500 points.

Is this something I have to proactively mention at check-in or does the bonus automatically post?

Does anyone know when the Hyatt Regency North Dallas permanently closed the club? I had a stay there January 14th and was told it was just closed for the weekend. I was told that I should get the 2500 points when I checked in.

Of course they did not post correctly and when I called today they are telling me it is now closed permanently and that I would not get points for the previous stay of January 14th. I just want to know if anyone can verify when it indeed permanently closed.

Had a stay Feb 3rd at the HR N Dallas in which I did not receive the 2500 points. Below is the response I received from customer service online form:

"...The Regency Club at the Hyatt Regency North Dallas is closed every Friday - Monday. If a Club closure is due to their regularly scheduled business hours, it is not eligible for bonus points. This is why the coupons were provided forthe 701 Bar and Grill and Boots and Brix. The bonus points are only offered when there are extenuating circumstances for closure, like
renovations..."

Btw, I didn't receive the coupons either. The lounge has been closed Fri-Mon as long as I have stayed here, so this is a new development not allowing the 2500 points.

Hmm...I think since the lounge is open but was just closed while you were there, you would be entitled to the points. Your problem was further complicated by the fact that you did not received the referenced ducats (though I think that is irrelevant). A lounge is more than a meal. It is a place to relax. Meal chits don't make you 100% whole even if you were to received them. Hence, the 2,500 point award should be honored.
