Help with calculating Base Points
I'm new to Hyatt GP, and on a trial diamond-status, and having a bit of trouble figuring out how they compute the points. I thought it was 5 points/eligible dollar, yes? Based on that, what should the Base Points be for the following folio:
08/15 - In-Room Dining Dinner Food 41.94
08/15 Guest Room Movies 19.71
08/15 Package 179.00
08/15 Occupancy Tax 25.96
08/16 - In-Room Dining Dinner Food 35.96
08/16 Package 179.00
08/16 Occupancy Tax 25.96
08/17 Visa -507.53
They show the 'base points' as 1,035. This seems really wrong to me, but before I called I thought I would check here, and also ask what is included in the 'base points' calculations. This was at a Hyatt Regency, if that matters.
They did apply 30% diamond-bonus (310 pts. based on their 1,035 number); I'm just unsure how they came up with what they did for the base-number, which would of course affect the bonus as well.
Thanks in advance!

Well the room charge of $179 x 2 nights is definitely eligible - at least some portion of the room service charges of $42 & $36 should be - so your base points should be at least 1,790 points and as much as 2,180. The in-room movie isn't usually a eligible charge since it is paid to an outside vendor - taxes are never eligible.
Contact the Diamond CS, and they'll correct it.
