Hello fellow travellers,
I previously booked 3 FFN nights at Huntington Beach during Christmas. However given that I still have 3 confirmed suite upgrade remaining and the current DEL5K, I decided to modify my reservation to maximize GP points. Here's my plan:
Book 1 night with Hyatt.com rate @ $220 followed by two FFN nights and use one confirmed suite upgrade for the first night. I will get:
1) first night in a suite and hopefully they won't have me to switch room for the other two FFN nights
2) $150 F&B credit
3) Regular points+diamond bonus+DEL5K+1W = 7430 (too bad Huntington Beach does not offer Gx)
4) Earn 0.5 FFN
Is there anything else that I have missed?
Thanks all and happy holidays.

Call the property in advance to check whether suites are available, HB used to be more than packed during X-Mas, therefore your chances of keeping the suite are limited, but in this economy, you never know.
Some suites are junior suites and actually very long tube like rooms and not a real suite.
Enjoy your stay and good luck getting and keeping a real suite for the duration of your stay. ^
