That code is more trouble than it's worth. Haven't been able to get it to price on any itineraries I've tried out of WAS or NYC. Makes me want to avoid IHG and Expedia. Terms should be clearer, and you should be able to enter the code up front.

This is what I have found:

Airlines it will work with:
AirTran
Alaska
Frontier
JetBlue
Midwest
Sun Country
US Airways
Virgin America

Airlines it won't work with:
American
Continental
Delta
Northwest
United

Those are the only airlines I have tried so if it isn't listed, try it.

I have tried an Airtran, Crowne Plaza combo for WAS, and am getting some bogus error about dates not being met.

I think that all of October is withing the promotional period, but whatever.

Expedia has been running some "great" promos lately!

Did it have the $200 promo listed for that specific hotel?

I did not see the logo on a single WAS area Crowne Plaza or Holiday Inn.

It should apprear on the search page, correct?

Yes for most locations. Most likely no locations are participating.

Here is an example of how to get the lowest price:

LAX-LAS 9/7-9/10 for 1 person. Select Candlewood Suites which has the $200 off IHG promo listed. Change airline to US Airways flights only (any of the lowest priced flights). Total will be $239.00. Now, taxes are $44.13 as part of the $239.00 total BUT the t&c's of the promo state that your total after the promo has to be higher than the taxes. It won't work UNLESS you select an add on. I added one of the stupid Carbon Footprint add-ons for $6.99. That brought the total to $245.99. Now, the $200 will come off with the code. Total for 3 nights, hotel/air/taxes and carbon footprint add-on $45.99. Now that's a deal.

ok, so if I use the 200IHG Promo and don't use the flight portion will my hotel be cancelled?

How can I find the lowest city pair to Boston for flight costs on Aug 16?

No. When you buy a package the hotel and air are booked independently of each other. Whichever one you don't use will not cancel out the other.

You are not only going to have to find out which city pair has the lowest price but which airlines that qualify for the package have the lowest fare. I listed some of those carriers a few posts back.

I think the promo says only packages booked through 9/30/09, so the return must be no later.

Just fyi, I've been using Farecompare's compare destinations page. The site has been crapping out on me lately but the gist of it is if you enter your departing city, you can see the current deal on the cheapest destination cities to fly. It's not 110% reliable but it definitely points you in the right direction.

That is correct. You must return by 9/30/2009.

Also, this is good to any destination in the world with any IHG brand hotel and airline that is participating.

Thanks, I'm driving to Boston already so the flight is no use to me, but $200 of the hotel might work, however since it's 2 of us, and I only want to book one passenger for the airfare portion do you think the hotel would refuse the booking if 2 of us show up?

The IHG Expedia promo does work on AA to the Caribbean. Not domestically, though. This promo is a mess.

Does hotel and flight have to be in the city?
