We just checked in today. Love the place! They were curious if I was going to stay the whole reservation. I said we'd let them know as soon as we decided. Greeting was great... top notch!

About 1600 to 2000 baht.

We were quoted a lower price by our driver friend and may go out this weekend. PM me if you want his number.

I am in #217, room is just fine, but could not get a King,
so have room with two Queens.
Queen BEDs, just to be very clear... .

They seem to be wrapping up the renovations,
and just took down a wall outside my door
revealing a whole corridor I did not know was there!

Have previous stayers received Priority Club points
for $$ spent AND nights stayed credit ???

I don't think this has been mentioned here,
and it might qual me for the 18-night stay 10K-pt bonus....

Either way, it is a nice place with fine pools and great staff,
and had a good visit with FTer sean !

Since this is FT, good idea to add the disclaimer...

Yep. I was one of the first to stay in Phuket on this rate, and I got both points and nights credit back then. Almost nothing for the room rate, obviously, but full points on incidentals.

I didn't answer before because I was not sure how to tell !

When I walk down the newly-exposed wing
stretching East from the 2nd-floor Main wing elevators,
there are tons of rooms under final prep,
mattresses being laid in, etc.

But almost all these rooms look similar to mine.
I asked the maid what the difference was,
she said same-same.

My room doesn't smell like fresh paint though,
so I would have to answer NOT newly renovated.
But not an issue IMO.

If you look at the link in this post you'll find some pictures of what a non-renovated standard room looked like when I was at the HI in May. Does that help in determining whether yours has been renovated?

Cheers,

Alex

Word around Patong is that there are about 100 rooms currently checked in at this rate.

GF is there now and mentioned she's been hearing gossip around.

Saw a big wedding party set up at the hotel a few weeks back. We joked that they were all down on the 1 baht rate.... Now I'm wondering if they were ;-)

checked in yesterday with a plat member but I dont think there was any upgrade.
the room I have has the new bathroom and 2 large single beds. I am very impressed with the hotel and the service and dont miss my usual hilton arcadia at all.
id definitely recommend this hotel ^
