Amex Travel German website

https://reise-services.americanexpre.../arc.cfm?tab=h

use promo code "jetztamex"

gives you 20 EUR off which is about 25 USD

srso Jan 30, 2015 1:09 pm

I can confirm that this one works, thank you!

gil123 Jan 30, 2015 2:01 pm

Hmmm, this is very nice as it seems to include chain hotels. This is ripe for the picking. Looks like it requires payment in an Amex card though, which will add in a forex fee- but still I think I can use this. I should also note that 20 EUR these days is barely $23 USD not $25. Still useful for cheaper/chain properties. Thanks OP. Never would have found this one!...

WORLDWIDE TRAVELER Jan 30, 2015 2:26 pm

promo code is not valid it shows when you enter the code in the promotion box

hotbird Jan 30, 2015 2:55 pm

Thanks OP! Still works, must pay with an AMEX card.

gil123 Jan 30, 2015 2:56 pm

It just worked for me. For some reason got hung up by trying to enter text into the "comments" box but once I deleted that it gave me the 20 EUR discount on an IHG chain property- and their price was significantly lower to start with. Thanks again

WORLDWIDE TRAVELER Jan 30, 2015 3:12 pm

it is working now, Thanks for the Info

PbodyPhoto Jan 30, 2015 4:24 pm

Can't say I am surprised but this doesn't work on stays under 20 Euros. Obviously didn't expect to be paid to stay in a hotel but a free stay would have been nice.

ac737 Jan 30, 2015 4:48 pm

Looks solid. Anyone know what the cancellation policy is on these?

hotbird Jan 30, 2015 5:38 pm

Depends on the hotel.

Lower prices?? Not even close

gil123 Jan 30, 2015 6:26 pm

YMMV but it saved me close to half the BAR available through IHG and the other OTAs between special pricing and the code discount. Surprised me too as I would never have even thought to check an American Express Travel site thinking their prices would not be good. I think for IHG at least there is more of a chance of substantial discounts on North American properties from European sites because they are not subject to BRG due to use of a different currency. Now let's see how long it takes for the Vegas and Bangkok people to go to town on this.

SinglePapa2 Jan 30, 2015 10:32 pm

Compared to F&F IHG rate?

PoochieLaGrande Jan 31, 2015 12:14 am

Thanks for this! Any idea how long the code is valid for?

sonofzeus Jan 31, 2015 1:57 am

Anyone want to read the German fine print for my hotel choice and tell me if the reservation would be fully refundable and deadline for cancellation?

I don't trust Google Chrome Translate for the info.

PM greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Mission accomplished.

laredo77 Jan 31, 2015 4:28 am

One time usable or can you book several one night stays?

shocky Jan 31, 2015 5:10 am

I'm getting an internal server error... is anyone still getting it to work?

WORLDWIDE TRAVELER Jan 31, 2015 8:54 am

getting the same "internal error" may be they are fixing the clitch in the system, so no more bookings? hopefully not.

garygleck Jan 31, 2015 9:16 am

While booking some Vegas nights, I noticed it said you had to cancel 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid penalty.

WORLDWIDE TRAVELER Jan 31, 2015 9:19 am

it is working again, just booked 4 more 1 nights stay, and paid 2 Euros for the Hotel Mate in Vienna including breakfast:)

WORLDWIDE TRAVELER Jan 31, 2015 9:21 am

the cancelation policy depends from the Hotel and Rate paid.

toby16custom Jan 31, 2015 9:41 am

Thanks OP, got two nights in Prague @ best western for $16.31 USD a night!

frank_10b Jan 31, 2015 10:45 am

The car reservations have you enter your credit card; are they freely cancellable?

hopeful_me Jan 31, 2015 10:49 am

Is anyone still succeeding? I keep getting an error at the final stage.

WORLDWIDE TRAVELER Jan 31, 2015 11:44 am

it is working well, I am sitting now on 24 , 1 Nights in different European Cities almost for free:)

Somehow I'm not finding a lot of hotels under 40 eur, mind sharing which cities are having some of the cheaper properties?

WORLDWIDE TRAVELER Jan 31, 2015 1:28 pm

I was telling, just check out cheap cities Hotels, like mentioned here as Vegas, Bangkok, and some European Cities.
It's not so hard to check.

you see any car day in the US below 40EUR? Any higher doesn't make it interesting

Daichovo Jan 31, 2015 2:03 pm

the link posted by OP does not seem to be working for me, any advice? Or is it dead....

Maayan Jan 31, 2015 3:31 pm

I just used this discount (thanks!) for a night in Phnom Penh. Can someone please explain the "Serviceentgelt" part? Is this something that I stand to be charged extra at the hotel, €15 per person? If it is then this will be more expensive than booking on Expedia... And I'm also concerned that there's no line showing the tax amount, or indicating that it is included...

Tarif / Rate 53,56 €
Serviceentgelt: 15 EUR p. P. 0,00 €
Ermäßigung - 20,00 €
Gesamtbetrag 33,56 €
Gesamtbetrag erhalten. Die angegebene Kreditkarte
und/oder Ihr Membership Rewards Konto wurde wie
folgt belastet:
33,56 €
Restbetrag Zahlung erhalten

anaidross Jan 31, 2015 4:10 pm

Thank you OP for the tip.

It is still working. I just made 3 separate bookings.

I have taxes (Steuern) shown in a separate line.

My service charge (Serviceentgelt: 15 EUR p. P.) line shows 0,00 €.

Therefore I doubt the Serviceentgelt has anything to do with taxes.

In any case, I was issued hotel vouchers via email for presentation during check in.

In the vouchers, no prices have been listed. They also state "This is a prepaid reservation, payable by Orbitz. Only payment for additional services, incidentals and extras to be collected from client."

I was going to be renting in italy for a month and was just wanting to take 20 e off. but anyone know if it is cancellable?

logix32 Jan 31, 2015 4:45 pm

It looks like they have disabled their car rental search. Been trying for the past 30 minutes to rent a car. Has anyone else been successful in the past hour to rent a car?

WORLDWIDE TRAVELER Jan 31, 2015 6:06 pm

you dont have to pay a service charge, it says 15 euros pp but than you see at your bill 0.
So dont worry you just pay what your final bill tells you.:)
just checked in today with the voucher and thats it.
