Has anyone tried hard to get some sort of compensation?

They are cancelling by dates. So if you booked later in the year, they will cancel those last.

I think it will take time for them to respond, after all they are probably trying to clean up the error, cancel the reservations and address the issue. It seems they are cancelling by dates. Send an email, like I did and see what happens. You can call them, complain, and see if you get something. Me, I'm just emailing and take a wait and see attitude. No sense in wasting my time on a call for some points, besides, I'm just GOLD status, not that high up in status. This is the email response i got;

"Thank you for contacting Marriott Customer Care regarding the TownePlace Suites Seattle Southcenter. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Please accept our apology for the frustration and disappointment this experience has caused. We have forwarded your comments to associates in the Executive Office of the hotel for review and have requested that someone from that office respond to address your concerns. You should be contacted within three to five business days."

I have a booking still intact for the last week of April. I'm assuming they just haven't gotten that far yet.

As this goes on, people could be buying air tickets

the longer it goes on without cancellation, meaning those June and beyond months, isn't reasonable to assume they are being honored. Isn't the standard that if they (vendor) catches and cancels in 24 hours that's reasonable.. but this going on what 36 hours and counting now?

Perhaps those that are being cancelled can list what website they booked and if booked through Marriott.com can indicate status level.

3 of my 10 reservations were cancelled, but the ones in may june and july still exist.

Not sure what this means, but I could have easily purchased airfare for those stays by now.

what do you mean and "no status"

does that mean those that you booked on marriotts website have not been cancelled?
