Haha I didn't get a 3BR. I got a 1BR and a 2BR....... but if there are 2 rooms per day then that would make sense.

I could probably cancel it and, assuming it returns into inventory, you could book the 3BR, if they haven't fixed this yet.

Wait...you will go back to SE Asia again, on Dec.?

I think you will depart ex-RGN and take SQ suite very soon, right?

Rule of mistake fares: book first, think/rationalise/plan later.

That said, December's a good time to go somewhere warm!

Not necessarily.

This hotel is definitely not the best on USM, and has nothing to compare to Conrad Koh Samui.

While I agree 25K PCR points for a 3 BR villa is a great deal, it's far from being a superb deal. Plus, there is no TG award seats between BKK and USM so that getting there is also a PITA.

You guys are probably ok.
I've been told her account has been suspended for breaking the T&C.
They were unable to tell which exactly and said they'll get back to us within 48h.
Can't believe how bad their CS is. She could barely speak English.

Did they suspend your account or cancel your rooms?

The cancellation was a result of her account being suspended.
We were enquiring about missing points from the BIG WIN promo yesterday.
(the points didn't credit correctly)
They're running some kind of audit. ATM she's unable to login to her account.

Just like the Marriott Phuket thing.

Nothing to get excited about!
Ya know there's a IHG thread on this exact error, and as far as I know, they've always honored them. IHG clearly cares nothing about what their customers think of them, yet, they seem to let these slide by without care.

OT: I recently returned via HKT, taking a rental car and then a ferry. 3h drive.
Plenty of award seats and cheap revenue seats as well.

For USM award the JAL mileage program could be a great way of scoring seats on Bangkok Ai.

Good call! I forgot the URT route.

I think the PG redemption deal through JL (5K miles) was concluded by the end of 2013?

25,000 points are being paid for the IC KS rooms which is the normal rate for a standard room there, and a standard room goes for $300 per night. So, getting a premium room for a $300-equivalent is not exactly like getting a Marriott room at a 96.6% discount. Furthermore, it appeared as if there were about 2 rooms per day that could be booked as an award, limiting the overall damage to the hotel.
I think we can cut the cr@p with these calculations, it was an error no matter how we turn it. The tone has been set for quiet some time now how companies deal with these matters. It's not like the good old FT days anymore where stuff like this usually got honored.

So my prediction of 3 Options:

1) Cancellation
2) Standard Room
3) Cancellation and a goodwill of xx,000 Points

YMMV

I don't think those are all the options. There's no way they would, for instance, take an RA who booked the 3BR villa and show him the finger and stick him into a regular room.

Make sure you have the number of people maxed out on your reservations. I just was able to change mine from 1 adult to 4 adults and 1 child on the 2 bedroom villa. Might make it harder for them to put you in a standard room if 4-6 people are showing up.

Probably too early to start a SumuiDo wiki?
