Free Night! Holiday Inn Express New York City Times Square
Post Deleted
Over the last month, there have been many concerns raised about what posting claims may do to the IHG Best Price Guarantee program. Kangaroo12 posted on Flyertalk that hundreds of free nights were approved by IHG for a single hotel. Others have reported that this same hotel will lose hundreds of dollars in lost revenue.
IHG never intended for their best price guarantee program to be used in this way. In this day and age with social media, a free night in a major city can spread like wildfire. It will not be long before hundreds of reservations will have been made.
IHG does not have as many restrictions as other best price guarantee programs. This is why it is more susceptible to devaluation. You could get a free night at the same hotel every second night for a whole year if you really wanted to. In comparison, Choice Hotels only allows a free night once every 30 days.
You can continue reading this thread if you would like to know what happend and any updates on the free night stays.

Booking reservations via http://www.priorityclub.com works fine right now. I just booked two separate weekends.
Call to IHG completed. Weekend of May 25-26 is now FREE for me!
Now to call them again as I just booked the weekend of July 13-14 too!

I don't think I have the patience to wait on hold for another one, but it would be good to know for future reference.

From here: http://bestrateguaranteehotels.blogs...-overview.html
Once a valid claim has been made and approved by IHG for a specific date, no further claims by the same person will be accepted for the same date.
This sentence is extremely important. Even if a person cancels the reservation, that same person cannot make further claims for the same date.
