Yup. Bought the Sea Dweller. I went to a reputable dealer and the watch came with all paperwork. Price is cheaper but not that much more (it took me 1 hr to bargain). I got a ~10 % discount... According to the Mar 08 MSRP list from Rolex the watch costs ~ $6200-6300 USD. I got mine for around $5400 USD...
The other stuff were cheap, like electronic and food.
Cameras and lens weren't cheap...

And you got it where, if you don't mind saying? Any special reason you got a Sea Dweller instead of a Submariner? Was there much of a price difference?
I guess the Sea Dweller you got is all stainless (I don't follow watch prices that closely. A 1/2 gold or full gold Sea Dweller seems kinda beside the point.)

Just got back from HKG. Pricing for luxe items are now through the roof and are no longer even par with USD equivalents. In the past, at least MSRPs were equivalent.
HKG is now probably the worst place in Asia to buy a watch, if you're not from the mainland.

In talking with a ton of watch stores, it seems there's enough traffic that even small and relatively unknown brands are getting snapped up. I visited a DeWitt dealer who had a tourbillon and fusee chain (although DeWitt calls it something else). DeWitt is definitely a niche of a niche and there's even huge activity there.
If someone is after less popular and expensive brands, getting it off internet discounters will probably net an even better price.

Several years ago we went to the Rolex service center who told us that unlike other service centers worldwide they accept no watches by mail and they need to be brought it and examined before they can be left for servicing. I think that pretty much tells the state of watch sales in Hong Kong. Buyer beware.
